Seems to me, they're both very similar players. Only thing I can surmise, is that Jeffcoat had an injury history (pectoral tears in 2011 and 2012) that, apparently, were still a point of contention.

Seattle may have gotten a steal. Jj couldnt of landed in a better spot. Seattle uses a heavy rotation on the line, they lost two guys who played alot last yr, and they have proven theyll keep a guy who wins a job, no matter if hes a first, fourth round or a udfa.

Jeffcoat hasn't been the same since his injury.

He was the 2013 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, consensus All-American and the Ted Hendricks award winner. So, he can play at a high level. However, he has been injury prone at UT and that caused him to fall in the draft. Seahawks got a steal.
