How come public libraries don't carry comic books?

I mean they carry magazines,newspapers and regular books but not comic books and I was trying to figure out why that is. Has anyone else wondered about this?

There are forms of the comic book that some Libraries do carry. The Queens Public has graphic novels and books of comic strips like Dilbert, Calvin and Hobbes, and Bloom County.

More recently, they have started carrying these graphic novel versions of classic literature. I'm kind of on the fence about them; on one had, it's like they're dumbing down the classics, but OTOH, my kids are reading them and therefore getting introduced to some great lit. I just hope they aren't tempted to disregard the originals using the excuse "I already read that..."

Is this legal? Also, have you been reading Scott Snyder's Batman run? It's fucking bad ass except for the last one- Volume 8, which was a serious let-down

I live in the 'burbs, but I have spent a lot of time in the Wilmington Public Library, and even they have those security panels that would beep if you left without checking something out. Unless you're talking about just not returning the books. I don't know how that would work

Holy shit, I just typed in Synder's Batman and they have it. I paid $25 for that shit on comixology the day it came out! That can't be legal

I have no idea if it is legal. It is a pretty nice site for it to be pirated, so I ignorantly assume it is legal.

I really only use it for the Walking Dead. I don't read comics.

I read the Compendium One. It was pretty good. I got the second compendium out of the library a month ago, but I've just been too busy and the only time I really have for entertainment is baseball.

I used it for like the first 40 issues then it stopped working. Kept saying error.

Had to finish the comics on a different site. So weird.

I am a few books behind but up to what I read its been damn good. I need to re-read the last book though because it was part one of those 3 books that made a story and it's been too long since I've read it.
