Are the Redskins Safe at Safety?


we have some young options at safety with johnson , jarret and even duke (injury risk ) to go with hall

can we get by with that if we add a free agent for the right price ?

this is a d/line draft full of good run stiffing type guys should we take advantage of that ?

We need a sideline to sideline free safety that can make plays on the ball. We haven't had that type of player since Sean Taylor. None of the guys we have on the roster today are this type of player. They are all more strong safety types that play better up in the box. I would put this need as our 2nd or 3rd highest (behind DL). I would love to see us use our 21 pick on a FS, but not sure the talent is there in this draft to use that pick on.

Well, you don't take someone just because you have the need. So I guess Im saying, yeah, if the player you need isn't there, fix another hole with the pick and wait to solve this issue permanently next year.

Totally agree with you j_y. I've been posting for a year that a play making free safety is a huge need on this team, been so for years. I'm not buying Hall, another unproven Band Aid. My preference is to find that guy in the draft but if there are none then of course you don't reach and fill other needs. I happen to think Duke may work out at SS but FS is another matter.

They need playmakers period on defense. If that is a safety great, but it would also be helpful to obtain someone in that regard at other positions (& Galette may also help). As mentioned above - you can't reach & the ultimate answer in this regard may come in another year. Just do what has to be done to improve the defense while not reaching with any draft pick.
