I think I was mostly shocked by the quote about all 4 officials having missed the play. Cannot comprehend how you could miss that play. The puck was in the vicinity, it's right in the middle of the ice, etc. etc.

Yeah, that's pretty bad.

And isn't that really the point of the second ref, is to watch for shit going on behind the play?

i dont think this is unrealistic but think in playoff games counting as double so if hawks win series its in 6 games so he would miss 3 more or (6 in reg season) or if they go 7 then 4 more or 8 in reg season.

if Coyotes win he misses all playoffs times 2 then probably add in there another 10 to 15 regular season games (he is UFA next year no?) maybe he just isn't signed in NHL again (ala McSorley)

The Torres hearing, which had been planned for today, was deferred at the request of the player and the NHLPA.

What *should* be done is suspend him for the rest of the playoffs... however long that is... PLUS the first 15-20 regular season games next year.

All the "1 playoff game = X regular season games" thing needs to go away, IMO. It's not consistent anyway so why even use it (NHL people)?

Didn't know the NHLPA had that option. I guess it makes sense though.

And even if he won't be in, I just think that all parties (Torres, Phoenix, even Chicago) need to know what's happening so they can gameplan appropriately.

Yeah, he'll be out Thursday, but do they need to consider long-term filling his spot? Does Chicago change their lineup with him out of it (aside from the obvious Hossa replacement)?

We all expect Torres is done for a while, but with the way the NHL is, you never know.

The Blackhawks had a presser scheduled for a few minutes ago where "Quenneville and several players" would address the media. Literally a minute or two before it was to start - it was cancelled.

The going theory right now is that since Torres's hearing was delayed 'til Friday, they may not want to release any info about Hossa's condition until later.

If true, nicely done, Blackhawks...

@DarrenDreger: To be clear, Torres,agent, GM, and PA reps need more time to get to NYC for hearing, hence it was pushed to Friday. Not strictly PA issue.
