There's your sign.
Carcillo scores and does a mini-Yak slide...
and somehow I find it more acceptable than Nail doing it lol
Hey, I like the fact that it prevented a 3-pt game. As mentioned earlier, ROR is a good player, but no where near 6.5 million.
Feaster is very lucky Greg Sherman is an idiot...

It's almost like these NW division GM's are trying to out do each other with sheer ignorance, incompetence, and flat out stupidity.
Well Feaster is a lawyer, maybe throw in some arrogance as well esls. Maybe he thought he could win the court case (if it got that far).
freidman brought it up in the 30 thoughts
if Feaster really had a different interpretation of the rule from the outset ... before he offered the contract ... wouldnt or shouldnt he have seeked to get clarification and ask NHL office if his interpretation was correct?
i call BS that there was ever a different interpretation from the begining or that he even knew of the issue ... it was a face (and job) saving move for him to come out and say that
We'll never know for sure, but that's certainly a likely possibility. What we do know is that Feaster (with a huge assist from Sherman) screwed up the Avalanche salary structure
potentially screwed up alot of teams salary structures as Im sure a few players will use that 6.5 number as a comparable for their own contract negotiations

This comes down to a matter of trust in the league among the non-owners of the league.
If I was going to make a headline grabbing move and didn't trust the league to NOT tell other GMs that I was trying it and possibly get scooped, I would have gone with my gut on interpretation and not asked clarification.
The NHL has a terrible record at keeping secrets.
