Every time I think of giving Dipoto praise for this signing, Solano plays and reminds me about the blind squirrel getting a nut every once in a while.
So true and that's the maddening part is why can't he be consistent hitting on players.

Looks like he got it

I’m not really sure what’s behind this offensive explosion as of late, but boy it sure does make for some enjoyable baseball
Amateur observation here, but, in my opinion, with the team clearly being more selective at the plate this year, opposing pitchers are starting to put pitches closer to the strike zone, giving the Mariner hitters better pitches to hit. Some hitters are capitalizing, some aren't.

Trent Thornton is having a Dr Jekyl/Mr Hyde type season. He already has 5 holds. He only had 10 all of last year. But he has also already been tagged for 4 homeruns. He only gave up 8 all of last year.
There it is. Yet another home run surrendered by Thornton. I don't think this is his year.

With the injuries to the rotation and the ineffectiveness of certain relievers we were counting on back in February, this season's pitching staff is going to be a work in progress. Let's just hope they don't kill the arms of Woo, Munoz, and Speier as they navigate through this season.
