Okay, I actually came back to watch this stuff (via recording) and just caught back up. Lou Gehrig K's with 2 on after Cruz scores 3. And he did it looking...ug.

One thing I noticed (no big surprise I guess) is that Texas gets to a lot more balls both in the infield and the outfield than we do. They also have better arms in the outfield. I like the Marin kid in center. He would be nice for us I think.

Paxton is not Paxton of last year. Missing time in spring hurt him I believe.

I said it all off season with my constant plea for adding another good veteran starter. Felix is Felix. Kuma is 32 and has regressed since end of 2012 and is always an injury risk. Happ is a good 4th starter in Safeco. Paxton/Walker/Elias were all major question marks coming into the season. A team that relies on pitching and expects to go to the W.S. should not have 3 rookies they need to count on. Can be done, but you are really rolling the dice if you do so especially with a very weak minor league system regarding SP's.

Atleast their getting the patented 8+ playoff hope destroying lose steak done early this year so fans can just sit back and not worry about stressing in Sept about any post season chances. And since they did this now, great chance they'll have another one later in the season to really turn the knife.

Enjoy watching Felix, Cano, and Cruz do their thing this year. But besides that, get out and enjoy the weather and don't waste your time on playoff wishes.

Whether they come through or not, it's encouraging that they were able to at least claw back close in such a disappointing game from their starter.
