I'm pretty happy with having gotten Spezza and Chara for Yashin myself.

I'm not convinced Yzerman would have won a cup in Ottawa. The team around him was too young.

Yeah, I remember hearing about it at the time too. And there was talk of him coming to Ottawa as an executive just before he went to TB.

Agree with Kenny, Chara and Spezza was a better long run haul for Ottawa. Plus Yashin dragged NYI to the bottom like an anchor. Would have sucked to see him do that to Detroit.
