Kinda surprised to see the Rangers in the 4 hole, they acquired a fine player in Nash and gave up spare parts to get him. They also have a young core of players that will likely just get better with the experience gained last season.

Does Hank repeat his performance last year though? With the system they run, its more about him than anyone else.

I think Lundqvist finally got over the hump last year (prior to that, I was a doubter that he can raise his game in the playoffs, but he proved to me last year that he can).

/I just can't stand that smug Sather though.

Pittsburgh at #1? That's asking for a lot. That would have to involve a healthy Sid for about 65+ games, Geno keeping pace...well those two things alone would keep the offense afloat...but on D it would involve young guys stepping up. Which could easily happen. EASILY. However, it's a stretch. MAF will be solid this year, bank on that. Postseason is where his demons lie.

And DUH! Voukon could be a big help too. Splitting time could be a huge help for MAF. Johnson just couldn't do a thing beyond a spot start in back to backs last year. And he often lost those.

feasting on a weak Norris Division :D

The Blues are a juggernaut, puck...

Meet the Western Conference’s new juggernaut. The St. Louis Blues came within two points of first in the West last season, largely because they were the NHL’s top defensive team, riding amazing efforts by goaltenders Brian Elliott and Jaroslav Halak. With budding superstar Alex Pietrangelo anchoring the blueline, captain David Backes proving a menacing two-way presence up the middle and Jack Adams Award winner Ken Hitchcock getting every guy to buy into his system, the Blues should once again be impossible to score on.

there's no way the pens win the eastern conference.

book it.

(as they stand now, i honestly think the pens and flyers will both be closer to 8th then 1st, in points)

I kind of am up in the air with the B's. If Horton stays healthy as well as Rask, I can see us pulling off a top 3 finish. But it's going to be tough. For us to be dominant and a top tier team, the whole team as to be on the same level like in 2011.

So...that means that in the Beast, they have the Caps winning the Southleast, the Bruins winning the Northleast, and either the Pens or Rangers winning the Bestlantic.

And out in the Worstern Conference, Vancouver winning the Northbest, Los Angeles winning the Pathetic, and they have St. Louis or Chicago winning the "Look, I didn't want to live in Missouri either, but I had a job here. Stop tormenting me with it every day, you crazy bitch!"
FIFY :D

I saw a funny headline on the Onion from late April today that said...
"Washington Capitals confused by back-to-back games against New York"

It's funny because our team has often failed in the first round and it implies that b/c of our lack of experience, the players on our team wouldn't know what a second round schedule looks like.

The Canes acquire Jordan Staal & THN picks them to miss the playoffs finishing 9th. OUCH!!

All I know is what I saw in the postseason from both the Flyers & Penguins. Both teams need help on D & their goalies to revert to past form. Right now the Rangers would be my pick to win the Atlantic & finish 1st in the East. You all know this is VERY PAINFUL for me to say.

Their style of play, the addition of Nash & of course that so called KING in goal make them tough for me to bet against right now.
