In Bob Stoops first year, you could say to yourself, self, that looks like a god dammed football team again.
That's what's been missing at Oklahoma for years and years.

I don't get that with this Tom Herman team.
Or am I missing something.

Damn near EVERY kid on that roster was recruited by every major program in the country. Saban, Meyer, etc all wanted kids on this team, they were all recruited by every major coach/program.

So this isn't about talent.

This is about coaches getting and developing that talent. This is about some of the flat out DUMBEST playcalling ever made on a football field.

Connor Williams is BY FAR the best OL on that roster......by my count, they ran the ball to his side of the field less than 22% of the run plays. DUMB COACHING.

We had the ball to end the half on the 1 foot line, first and goal. We RAN THE BALL OUT OF THE SHOTGUN when all we needed was a FOOT! DUMB COACHING.

Do I have to explain the 3rd and 2 call? Or the fact we weren't bleeding clock before that? Or the numerous, STUPID QB runs called?

DUMB COACHING.

And my guess is Tom Herman is too arrogant to admit he made a mistake hiring Tim Beck and will keep him......when the above plays were just indefensible. He won't make it 3 years in Austin if he can't figure out that the game planning and decisions he's defending got him to 6-6 so far......and maybe, just MAYBE he should reconsider.

I don't see it happening, and will have to suffer through these kinds of threads next year as well.

That is not true. That OL is not filled with 4 and 5 star recruits. That is the biggest myth among Longhorns fans.

That was amazingly dumb. I wanted a running play. Even if you want to throw, help the offense out. It's 3rd and 2 for basically the game. You know the defense is coming, call play action.

Shit I could just make a list of Texas QB's more highly rated we didn't get. It's not like it was only poor evaluation on our part. We just haven't landed the best guys. I won't count guys like Johnny Manziel against us, nobody saw that shit coming. He wasn't highly rated. Just a great eval by Sherman.

In 13 years only 4 times have we signed the top QB in the state or a QB ranked higher than the top Texas QB. Mack fucked us hard and didn't land shit outside of Gilbert his last several years. Charlie fucked us in 2015 failing to secure either Murray or Stidham. That was a great year for Texas QB's. We are not that damn talented and haven't been for a long time at the most important position in football.
