Herman will be fine once he gets a better late game tactical gameplan that can finish off games.
I dont think people realize how bad Texas was from 2010-2016.

The Horns were routinely blown out all the time prior to Herman's arrival.
Charlie Strong lost 11 blowout games in 3 years.
Mack Brown lost 14 blowout games in his final 4 years.
That was nearly a 30% blowout loss rate. It was bad.

This year Texas keeps losing close games, and it sucks. They had late 4th quarter leads in 10 games.
That has to get better no doubt. You cannot give back games late.

But, Close losses breed anger and a desire to get better.
Blowout losses breed apathy and a desire to stop caring anymore.

Swearsies! Never had a quarter pounder either. I've had a whopper jr, but not a regular whopper.

You told me I had a whopper. Guess that was just to make me feel better.

Yeah. I see those tu boosters had written Herman a check after that OU game and didn’t bother watching him shit the bed against Navy, SMU, Memphis and SanDeigio State.
WTF is 'TU'? Texas is 'UT'.

I remember several years ago how the Whorens fans on here were so quick to say that nebraska is done, but Texas will always be a relevant contender.

Nebraska went to the B1G and have had their struggles. Texas stayed in their own little world and shit down their leg.

I think nebraska has won more games since then. I could be wrong. But, if so, how pathetic is that for Tejas?
The ultimate tallest midget contest. Comparing who has been better the past few years. Nebraska and Texas?

Nebraska played in a B1G CCG (if you call getting beat 70-31 "played") so I guess I'd have to say they are the taller midget...until this year. 6 wins > 4 wins.

The thing that is killing texas is that texas high school talent isn't what it once was.

This is very true and I really don't know why and can only speculate. A long time ago, Texas teams like Carroll, Allen, Katy, and Lake Travis were all the cream of the crop and heads above everyone else in the country. Now, although California, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania recruiting have held their own, recruiting has moved heavily to the Southeast. 7 of the top 15 states for high school recruiting are in the Southeast (Florida alone is equal to Texas, and Georgia isn't far behind).

This also coincides with the rise of these programs like IMG and Bishop Gorman, whom I suspect are poaching the best Texas athletes. Once they've gotten out of the state, there's no longer that resistance to change and fear of the unknown many young people face when considering leaving their home state. And the Texas colleges being bad at football have caused most of them not to want to come back.

But that's just a guess.

This has absolutely NOTHING to do with coaches or game plans. This has EVERYTHING to do with lack of talent or inexperienced talent. You arm chair qb's crack me up. Talking about coaches and game plans. I'm sorry, you have no idea. None. This ain't a game of thanksgiving football with mom and dad with the aunts and uncles in the backyard. Just because you played in junior high and high school, doesn't mean sh&t.

There will be NO miracles that turn a ship around in one year no matter who the coaches are. Texas has gotten it's ass kicked over the last 7 or 8 years in recruiting. You have to have talent on the field at all positions with a few superstars to compete at a National Level. We don't. That simple. Herman seems to be doing well in recruiting in his first full year for next year, but it's early. We need 2 or 3 really good recruiting seasons.

Thank you for your time. The management.
