in a perfect world yes. but its far from that it just happens sometimes your nto part of a play sometimes you are.

If your not part of the play that's a problem with the player.at any given time players have multiple assignments offensive and defensive with and without the puck.It's one of the first things you learn when playing organized hockey.positioning and assignments is key to a functional team.That's where plus minus comes if your looking at just the puck carrier then no it won't make sense to you if you follow the big picture it makes perfect sense.

The thread isn't about new fans by jumping off topic it makes it look more like your avoiding the conversation .by running in circles or diverting the topic it only makes it look like you don't know what your talking about.even lifelong fans of the sport can learn new things but in order to do that you must first be receptive.I'be been involved with hockey since I was 5 and I'll be the first to admit there's always more to learn from the experience of others to new systems its infinite.
