Looks like Hextall took the AGM position next to Holmgren.

He was the GM in Manchester too I believe, leaves a big hole in management at the NHL and AHL level for LA.

Flyers did the Kings a favor by taking his useless European counterpart a few years back, maybe they can help the Kings out with the NA equivalent.

This was going to happen eventually so I'm not disappointed or surprised. I'm a little shocked he merely went to a different team as an assistant GM. I kind of figured he would wait until he got an actual GM position.

And yes he was GM of the Monarchs as well as Assistant GM. I wish him nothing but the best.

That was actually my initial thought.

After doling out big dollars over the years and having most of them blow up in his face (Pronger being one, although that wasn't Pronger's fault the term was completely Holmgren's fault), misjudging FA acquisitions (Bryzgalov as an example) and questionable trades (how are the Schenn brothers working out for you?) one has to believe Snider must be concerned.

Who else better than Flyer icon Hextall, who learned the ropes after retirement with the Flyers and polished his skills even more developing a great farm system and got Cup winning experience and was a big part of identifying quality talent in LA?

Sucks that Holmgren will take the fall when it wasnt all him.
