If Taylor Martinez was our starting QB during the 1995 season, what would our record have been?

t mart aint got shit on the 95 squad

:L

You had a turd the size of a pear inside of your diaper during that game..........don't act like ye know anything about that team.

Taylor Martinez could have easily handed the ball off to the best running back core to ever exist behind the best line to ever exist. And he would have easily ran for a shit ton of yards as well.

And his defense would have easily held up their end of the bargain, and they would have been undefeated.

i have watched enough of their games, and read enough about them to know that Taylor doesn't belong in the same sentence as the 95 team

Chuck, for fuck sake, the question is hypothetical...........:L

I never said anything about Taylor belonging on that team. Pretend for a second that he was the best we had at that time...........what do you think our record would be?

but NOT because of him at all...i think you could plug damn near any QB in history in too that team and they would be 12-0

I don't think you could plug any QB in.........I think you'd need a running QB.

But my point is this.........Martinez came back after that Wisconsin game and he said "I am going to get better"...........and he turned the ball over only a couple times the rest of the entire season.

Had everyone else had the same mentality, the "I will play better from here on out" mentality, I think we would have seen different results.

Unfortunately, to me, Martinez, Burkhead, Bell, and David were among the only players on the team who had that mentality.

I imagine a lot of people here will say "ah hell, even I could have played QB and just handed the ball off to Green and Phillips and won......"

But what a lot of people don't realize, is that defenses were keying on Frazier, and that is what really opened up the whole offense.

i was implying that it would be a running QB...but yes, had the team had that mentality...we could have been a one loss team playing in the rose bowl IMO

We would have had at least two losses with Taylor.

I do not believe there is more than two starters this past year that would had sniffed the very field we played on in 95. Maybe.... David and Burkhead... other than that, I think these present players would shit themselves.

Your question JJM is moot... and I am wondering what purpose you asked such?

I see what JJM is saying but T-Mart isn't half the leader and doesn't have half the heart Tommie did. That being said, didn't the '95 squad win a game with the towel boy playing QB?

Fellas, I wasn't asking if Taylor deserves to play on that team, THAT would be a pointless question.

I was asking this question basically............if you surrounded Taylor Martinez with the 1995 offensive line, and a defense that played with the passion that the 1995 defense did............where would we be right now?

It's one of those things where you have to set your biased tendencies aside and say "okay........I admit........Taylor is not the reason we are losing games."

And no, Exorb.........Nebraska would not have lost a single game with Taylor at the helm. Remember, there was only one game that was even close that season, and that was agains Washington State whom we beat by 14 points. The rest were all complete blowouts.

My point is simple. Taylor Martinez is under the microscope because of the position he plays. But you can look at every one of our offensive linemen and :L @ them just as much as you can Taylor........and you can do that for many of our defensive players as well.

But they aren't the ones who are in the spotlight every play.........so everyone just assumes that it's all on that guy.
