I thought we addressed the safety problem(Thomas) why'd we let LaRon Go?

Because he was acting flaky about his injury. We had no confidence that he would ever heal. We were wrong, but I don't fault the FO for this, the guy was more interested in body building that healing. You win some, you lose some, the best you can do is take calculated risks. IMO, his risk wasn't adding up.

We weren't wrong at all for letting LL go. He was immature and would never mature here. He was constantly injured and underperformed when healthy. Many of you make it seem like he's playing great in IND and was great in NY. He wasn't and isn't. Honestly, Merriweather is probably better...when healthy and not suspended.

I think I was a little over dramatic on saying we need to get rid of most of our offensive line, we could use a better RT and getting another C wouldn't hurt but our biggest need is obviously on defense , our ILB position is hurting Fletcher God bless him is getting old and Riley just can't cover in space....
Not sure if Thomas will be any good when comes back next season so could use another safety and CB.
Would love to see us get another solid wr too.

polumbus quietly has been charged with only one sack allowed and has done well in the run game . any player in the interior could be replaced

At LB, I'd say Londer Fletcher will retire. I'm hardly ever hearing his name called in games. Not good! I like Perry Riley as a run-stopper, but worry about him in coverage. He'd be in a ton of trouble if we go to a 4-3, next season. Brian Orakpo is worth keeping. Here is why. He's never played his natural position of DE. I always said he'd be better at that position than LB. In addition, he'd be the best pass-rusher on the market, next season, outside of Jared Allen. I would think he would be crazy enough to ask for $10 mil a season. He's not worth that. I'm sorry!

At WR, I think a total makeover is gonna happen. I'm dying to see what Lance Lewis is gonna do, if given the chance. Since the Redskins are not going anywhere, this is the ideal time to let him get some snaps. Period. I'm for keeping Aldrick Robinson. Sure! He's known for some drops, but it seems like every time I turn around, he's making a big AND long TD catch. I think Josh Morgan, Moss, and Hanks will be gone. We've got to get one or two WRs in FA. I'm all for getting Hakeem Nicks and possibly getting another one in the draft.

I'd say the OT's are fine, but the interior lineman need to go. I'm not sold on Chris Chester and Lichtensteiger. Will Montgomery can be solid, but sometimes, he gets manhandled.

First of all, I'd keep D-Hall. He's been doing pretty good, since the middle of last season. Amerson's going to only get better. I'm for keeping Meriweather. I love his game. He needs to just stay healthy and don't hit high. lol I say he goes to strong safety and the Skins go after T.J. Ward or Jairus Byrd for FS. I haven't been sold on Biggers and Josh Wilson is overpaid at this juncture. I wouldn't be surprised to see either go. The bottom line is this team is likely to get a makeover, next season. It probably will start with the HC and his non-playcalling son. We can throw Jim Haslett in the fire, as well.

The question mark on RAK coming out of college was his size at DE. This may not be his natural NFL position.

Why do you believe we will cut our #2 WR when he costs little next to nothing?

I'm firmly against Nicks in FA because he won't be worth the cost.

I'd say the OT's are fine, but the interior lineman need to go. I'm not sold on Chris Chester and Lichtensteiger. Will Montgomery can be solid, but sometimes, he gets manhandled.

I question Montgomery more than the other two. We continually get beat by the inside blitz. It's not that we get overpowered. The center and the QB are responsible for calling protections and we continually get beat by stunts.

I agree on Hall and Amerson. I don't care about Biggers one way or the other and I'd offer Wilson 2 to 3 mil/season in an extension. Merriweather is already a SS.

I'm not against Ward or Byrd but I don't think we should pay a ton for a FS.

Mike Shanahan, nor Kyle, are leaving after this season. I expect Haslett to get the axe.

I still think CB needs to be addressed somewhere in the draft. Noone outside of Amerson gives me a feeling of being a long term starter for the D. We could and certainly should adress it short trem in FA, but a lock down corner is probably going to cost the team some jack. Center is another position that could easily be addressed in the draft. For some reason, it is a position that doesn't seem to be as highly valued (as compared to others). We could easily pick up the 1st-3rd best center in the draft in the 3rd or even 4th round. No need to reach for that position (unless you are Dallas).

Hall is having a great season and is still relatively young. I wouldn't mind seeing us ink him to a 3 year deal in the $12-15M range. It appears he has matured and not so much of the "meangelo" that he was his first 5 or 6 years in the league. If we could get him in that range, it would be a good deal as a shut down corner could cost upwards of 7-8M/year and you just never know what you are going to get.

Whoa. 4-5mil a year for hall at his age? He should get the same deal as this year. 1yr 2.5mil. Or 1yr 3mil.

He's only 30. That's not to old for a CB. You structure the contract so that it can be voided in year 3 with no penalty. Understand that the average for a good CB (not elite) is in the 6-8M/yr range. He was being paid $6M/yr before we cut him last offseason. He is going to be considered for the PB this year. He won't come that cheap.

We have overpaid for Hall in the years past in my opinion. If he makes the Pro Bowl his price does go up. But I cant see us giving him 6million. Talib just signed for 5mil with the Pats and he is 27.

I agree 6 is too much. But he will get 4-5/year from someone.

I would like to see him at a nickel CB for us. We need to sign Sam Shields as our #1 CB. Shields, Amerson and Hall would be a good CB corps.

I agree with everything you said SkinFanATL. We have to address the following areas to clean up the team: Secondary, LB, WR and Interior OL.

These areas are killing us and have to be the top priority this offseason.
