That's the fun part. Just got a call that my 16 year old grandson broke his leg at wrestling practice today.
Dam that sucks hope it's a clean break at least.

I always tell people Join the Air Force. We got the best looking women, golf courses, and your not up at 4am running your ass off.

Fibula broke in two places is the initial report. Looks like I'm headed to Eclectic Alabama 1st thing in the morning. They've got him sedated for the night.
He's in our prayers man. Be safe on the road.

Wishing a speedy recovery for him.
Is this another gay séance?
Fibulas heal pretty good, especially at 16. Wouldn't worry about it too much if there wasn't any ligament damage.
That makes me feel better. Just talked to his mom again. Some kid landed awkwardly on the outside of his leg, just above the ankle.
Almost everything heals well at 16 other than vertebral injuries (which still usually heal well, but are a bit more complicated). It is extremely rare for any kind of permanent osteopathic problems to result at that age when they do not involve vertebrae or a major joint, especially long bone fx's like tib/fib or ulna/radius. Crushing fx's are usually the only kind of true long bone fx that I would be worried about in someone that young, and I highly doubt he sustained any kind of horrid crushing fx from wrestling. Have they mentioned surgery at all? Just trying to gauge how sever the fx was.
He's seeing the specialist 1st thing in the morning. The small-town hospital he was taken to just put a temp cast on him, gave him something fore pain, and sent him home. I'm thinking if it was really severe, they would have kept him.
It's unlikely he would need surgery. I wouldn't think there would be a significant enough impact (relative to what is needed) for it to have fragmented, especially if the tibia wasn't fractured.
It's most likely something like this that should heal up fine.
Thanks. That what I gathered when last talking to my daughter-in-law. The orthopedist would make that call tomorrow.
Pfft, I was stationed in Germany for 3 and half years. I still hate soccer.
Another Bama fan, God help us. Be half as over the top cocky and twice as smart as the rest of these Gump asshats and you willl be fine.
Ah...truth be known most are 11th grade sharp, semi- humble, only diddlle 2nd cousins, been straped to a tree and hosed by an Uncle less than 3 times (and objected 2/3 of the time), in other words, pretty good dudes.
