And yet you made a thread about it eh.This shouldn't even be a discussion
With hindsight that's easy to say far as the first part goes. but I don't recall anyone saying anything similar to this before I read your post. Though far as the 2nd part goes. I thought RR might go to the bullpen after Haskins had one 2nd half possession and hadn't done anything. I thought they should've went for it on 4th dn instead of kicking the 2nd FG also. That said, I'm still a little stunned at how shitty Haskins played. I mean I didn't expect 70+ comp %, 350 yards n 3 TDs or anything, but with all that was riding on this game to come out and play as he did. Shit, that was depressing.Rivera made a huge mistake not benching him after the stripper party and then benching him too late after the game was about over
Yeah, I was expecting the D would have to be real good to win. The dropped punt was a killer. I figured the O had to put up 20 in some way. Haskin's wasn't even close. Did the previous weeks events hurt him? We will never know. I know on some passes I couldn't figure out whether he missed that badly or he threw it away on purpose. With hindsight that's easy to say far as the first part goes. but I don't recall anyone saying anything similar to this before I read your post. our QB situation is absolutely the result of mismanagement of the cousins situation 5 years ago. Cousins has not turned into drew Brees, but he has proven to be a capable NFL Qb. Who wouldn’t want one of those right now?Yeah, I was expecting the D would have to be real good to win. The dropped punt was a killer. I figured the O had to put up 20 in some way. For me, seeing a QB who has barely ever played in the NFL come in and move the team the way he did spoke volumes. I have often heard it said here that DH didn't play well because he didn't get first team reps.Well .... either did Heinicke. He found the open receivers that Haskin's couldn't and even managed to get completions or drops on long passes. The kid had thrown for 58 total passes in 5 years with 5 teams. All but one pass was with Carolina two years ago. He had 0 TDs and 3 INTs. What I did remember after reading it was that he played for that football factory ODU.
That might have been his 7 minutes of fame but I wish he had more like 30 minutes to see what he could do. And lets not forget ... he was also missing Scary Terry and had no run game because he HAD to pass.
I have no idea what the WTF do next year. Do you trade Haskin's for two rolls of tape and a Gatorade bottle with a hole in it, keep him, cut him and take the hit in the cap? I wonder the same about Smith although I guess if he is damaged goods you keep him for another year as insurance and a coach on the field at $20 million.
Some of you don't like me talking about Cousin's but this all goes back to Scot, Bruce and Dan mismanaging his contract.
