If Smith can play, he will. Heinicke will back up, I suspect Haskins will never suit up in a Redskins uniform ever again.

I suspect Haskins never starts another NFL game.

He will be out of the league within 2 years.

Good news though?

Hurts success is a mirage. A good defense with a good defensive game plan and benefit of a couple weeks of tape can render him ineffective. Keep him in the pocket and apply pressure with the front 4.

All our QB will have to do next week is manage the game and not turn the ball over. Defense will win the game.

The qb position and cousins in particular has bren mismanaged - no doubt.

I do think the team has some options however, and starting any of the qbs currently on the team is not the only option.

One thing that helps the situation is that the WFT is in good shape, cap wise. They probably can afford a decent rental on a short term prove it deal.
Kyle Alen will be cheap, but he’s not very good. Alex Smith will be expensive, and he is at least serviceable.
Haskins is on his rookie deal, but is the worst of the three.

Clearly a free agent vet and/or draft pick are in order. I hope they do both.
You aren’t going to get a FA qb that will make the difference the fan base wants . Keep Allen , keep CDC and draft Ridder . Cut DHC

Far as the first team reps go. Maybe I heard it wrong on both ESPN and NFLN, but I thought Haskiuns got all the first team reps. Every time they talked about AS practicing say said he was off to the side throwing to a WR or so I thought. Regardless of that the way I feel right now. I wouldn't object if they cut Haskins ass last night. Even if he played well yesterday, I was thinking there would still be a decent chance the Skins would want to part ways with him. But at least it would give them something to deal with in possible trade talks. As stands now I'd take one roll of tape and you can pour the gatorade on my shoes for Haskins. The only good thing that comes out of this fiasco is the Skins bear no blame for how it turned out. He was given X amount of opportunities after continuous fuck up after fuck up and he shit all over every one of them. Then he topped it all off with that performance from yesterday.

Far as the QB situation going into next year. I don't know what going to happen with Alex n his calf issue, but since he became a Skins player. The Skins are 10-5 when he starts and 6-26 when any other QB starts. If he wants to play next year and he's healthy I'm OK with it. Maybe I'm judging him too harshly, but I don't have much faith in Allen. Or if the Skins draft a QB they expect to start at some point next year or want him n Alex to compete for the starting gig. That's cool. Far as trading for a QB or signing one via FA. The only 2 I think I'm down with are Dak n Stafford (though I think the Lions would be foolish to cut bait with Stafford) n neither he or Dak are coming cheap. And while I do like Fitz a lot. I see him much more as a gunslinger coming in as relief as opposed to being the week in, week out starter.

After watching this team for any significant amount of time. Skins fans still having opinions like this ^^^^ amaze me. It looks n sounds so simple, but with the exception of the Cowboys games this year. When was the last easy victory for this team?

Just heard Taylor Hienicke has been tabbed the starter if AS can't go. Word. I've more than had my fill of watching Haskins play.

I didn’t say it would be easy.

I said they should be able to limit Hurts and they would win if the QB can manage the game.

That is an extremely big if considering what the QB room looks like at the moment.

the defense cant give up big plays and ST 's cant fumble punts and KO's . . sometimes this defense lets us down

The punt return fumble 6 was a real killer.

Sure. No defense is perfect. Philly will hit a couple plays.

But I have faith in this defense against a rookie QB with a limited skill set that snuck up on his first couple opponents.

Saying nothing about his on field play he let his teammates down in many, many ways and I think this was a wise decision.

We need to know a lot more about Smith and the calf problems. No doubt when Smith played the team won more often than not. I don't think any of us should be looking at Kyle Allen or Heinicke are the future.
