The Cavs didn't look like themselves... but I give all the credit to the Heat for that. They were by far the more engaged & physical team all night.

I think last night was a good moment for the Cavs to have right about now... if I'm looking on the positive side of things.

To me the turning point of the game was a few minutes left in the 1st quarter. It was tied at 22. The Cavs were in the middle of a run after the Heat had gone up 9 or 11. Kyrie drove inside and got blocked by Whiteside which turned into a wide open 3 at the other end for Chalmers.... who missed. But Dragic chased down the board and got it back to a still-wide-open Chalmers who nailed it. That sparked a long run by the Heat during which the Cavs missed 9 or 10 straight shots.

As I sat there watching the game last night, all that I saw was the Heat/James system attempted to be duplicated minus the ability to really crank up the D.

Anyone remember the chatter between Blatt and James about what a complex system he was trying to incorporate?

Then, the 'schedule' excuses?
Hasn't that same team won 24/29?
You don't think if anything, they would have slacked off vs the Magic on Monday knowing full well the last thing that James ever wanted to happen was to have his ass handed to him by the Heat in Miami on national TV again?

It's funny, as bad/injury riddled as the Heat have been all year, no players have made excuses and Spoelstra has continued to say 'we have enough'.
The Cavs get beat up and Blatt/James can't just give the Heat credit.
Hopefully that excuse mindset trickles down to the rest of the roster so that when the going gets tough,they will think its ok to find excuses afterwards.

Anyway, I think/hope that relying on the 3 too much will be their eventual downfall.

I will say Kyrie looked lightning quick and confident, BUT he needs the ball.

Question is,when it really matters,will James trust him with it when the seasons is potentially on the line?

I hate that Blatt said the Cavs need the 2 seed.

I prefer LeBron's mindset:

The coaching staff, if that's what they want, but for me, I never play for seeding. I just play, and wherever at the end of the season we land, I'm ready. Just get me in the playoffs.

The problem with putting emphasis on a particular seed:
1) You burn yourself out mentally and physically playing for something not that important
2) The pyschology if you fail to get that seed can hurt your team

We've seen this with teams over the years (Indiana Pacers come to mind). I admit, my annoyance of Blatt is growing.

Hopefully...but it's really hard to say.
The one thing the Heat has lacked this season in any type of consistency.
Lets see how it goes against Portland tomorrow.
I'll go on record and say I'm hoping for a repeat type of performance but I can't say that Im expecting it.

This would be a really good first round series if Bosh & Josh were able to come back this year. Without them Cavs probably would win in 5 or at most 6.

The heat been playing much better at home lately and wade been out of this world in March. Rough schedule coming up but if we're able to play good at home and stay healthy we should make it. This been our best stretch @ home all year as we won 5 of 6 @ home. The game we didn't win Goran didn't play & Whiteside got ejected

@gordontrue I agree with LeBron on the seed thing also. As long as I'm a top 4 seed I wouldn't care where I finish because you should be good enough to win one road game per series as the heat did with LeBron in every series they played together in their 4 years. Pretty amazing when you think about it. They played 16 series together & won at least one road game in every single series.
