I wonder how good he can be without any DT.
Man if you take all the players that are FA's and take them out of our two deep and look at what's actually under contract and then listen to Stephen talk about how up against it this team is cap wise, it's downright depressing. They have to create space and spend money, that's all there is to it. If they don't, if they go the same route of letting guys walk, depending on 10 draft picks, UFA's and get minimum guys, we might be one of the worst teams in football

Stephen cares about putting money in his pocket. His daddy came up a risk taker, spent every dollar he could beg or borrow for to buy the Cowboys and he had a drive to be the best when he bought the team. He was clueless, but he would write the checks. Stephen was brought up with a silver spoon in his mouth, never had to work for anything in his life, and he doesn't give two shits about winning, just how much more he can deposit in his personal account
That's how billionaires become billionaires and stay billionaires. Not by listening to people who live paycheck to paycheck.

Everyone is talking about the 2024 salary cap and not the "unknown" 2025 salary cap.

Expectations are that the cap will be somewhere between 12% and 20% increase form the $225M 2024 cap. 12% would bump it up to $252 and 20% would blow it up to $270M. 15% seems more reasonable which would put it at $262.2

Sportrac says the maximum is $275M in 2025.

Cowboys under their cap scenario are at -$4.4M

Nothing we aren't already saying on here, but Worth a read IMO:

Of course they didn’t seriously look at anyone outside of their own building. Of course they chose a new HC that no other team in the Universe was considering. They saved a bunch of money doing it that way too. They shopped for a Head Coach like the rest of us shop for auto insurance.

They continually show us exactly who they are. I’m not sure why we refuse to believe them. Let’s remember how we got here…

Presumably disgusted with the playoff loss to the Packers, Jerry let McCarthy walk the plank in the final year of his deal with no assurances of returning… then Jerry spent most of the season acting FURIOUS over the job McCarthy was doing… then…Jerry tried to bring McCarthy back!! WTF? Then… Jerry COULD NOT get McCarthy to come back. Double WTF’s.

There was no plan? Then the plan on the fly was to retain McCarthy?? Then that plan failed?? And actually, it kinda sounds like McCarthy might’ve thrown up the peace sign as he walked away from the dumpster explosion in slow motion. He might’ve decided he’d rather go back to that coaching barn they found him in than go through any of this BS again.

So after that exceptionally bizarre divorce, we all got excited to varying degrees over the biggest names out there — Ben Johnson, Mike Vrabel, Aaron Glenn, Kliff Kingsbury, Kellen Moore, Robert Saleh, Pete Carroll, Bill Belichick, Deion Sanders, Jason Witten… What a list! Plenty to discuss and debate there. Surely they’ll get a good one and get this thing headed in a new direction. Um. Nope. Same exact direction. Turns out proximity to McCarthy’s empty office was the most important factor in their extensive search.

They simply don’t value the head coaching role like real organizations do. They watched Switzer win a Super Bowl while eating hot dogs on the sideline. How hard can it be? We need to be honest with ourselves. The Dallas Cowboys are not a serious franchise. They’re a brand. A popular brand. But a brand that lacks substance, because as we all know the North Star that guides them is a dollar sign, not a Lombardi Trophy. Cowboys fans are trapped in a business deal. They’re stuck in a Bill Murray Groundhog Day loop where their team isn’t ever a serious contender but at least their owner travels in only the finest luxury helicopters.

Jerry Jones now owns the longest NFC title game drought in the conference. It was 1996 when the Cowboys were last there. I believe Warren Moon was still in the league that season. He’s 68 now. After years of the same painful results, instead of finally reaching a breaking point and leaning into a significant culture change that might spark a tiny molecule of hope for Cowboys fans — Jerry raced in on roller skates and violently swatted that crazy notion into the stands like he was Dikembe Mutombo all jacked up on Mountain Dew. Jerry decided that there is absolutely no reason for anything to change. It’s cut and paste time, baby! It’s time for more of the exact same thing. It’s time for yet another season of the fan base’s familiar zombie march to mediocrity followed by high fives and fist pumps in the owner’s suite over another bloated Forbes valuation.

Overshown can’t wear #0 because Jerry says Rowdy the sideline muppet has dibs. Cowboys players are begging him to put up curtains in his stadium because they can’t see past intense cornea-scorching solar flares at key moments, but that would be admitting a design flaw. The best available coaches aren’t of interest to the Cowboys because Jerry wants to be the face of the brand. The ruler. The decider. It is what it is.

I'm immediately brought back to Jerry's comments that 500 head coaches could have won a Super Bowl with the Cowboys teams of the 90's. He is just embarrassing himself more and more by the year and all of us as his collateral damage. The only constants are incompetence, mismanagement and lack of any vision, plan, identity or realization that it isn't working. After going "all in" and failing miserably, it still didn't result in his realizing that it just isn't working. Not even him as the leader because we know his pride won't allow him to change that, because what would happen if he and his family stepped into the background and then we won? He'd have to answer questions about his obviously being THE problem and the Jones Boyz don't do that. But he hasn't even realized the simplest thing that bringing back as many of the same platers and coaches that are not just a part of, but a reason for the failures year after year isn't working. No vision, no plan, no clue. Just rinse and repeat and hope for a different result.

We can create $120M in space in 5 easy moves AFTER signing Micah. The problem is Stephen not our cap space

Fortunately I haven't lived paycheck to paycheck since I was about 24 and since that's was in the 90's, its all good. And that's not how Stephen became a Billionaire so let me educate you. Stephen was born and his name is Jones. That's how he became and stayed a Billionaire. Now carry on

I already been working on catch phrases like "Are you fucking kidding me", "what in the hell are you thinking"
Lol, I mastered those types of phrases years ago. I said those things when Jimmy got booted, and when they passed on Randy Moss. The galloway and Roy Williams trades not drafting TJ Watt etc. So many blunders

At one time I really thought Stevie would have a positive impact. Not really. I was dead wrong. He is as much of a problem as Jerry is.

One would have thought this past season would be a wake up call. I do think Cowboys nation is fed up. I could easily envision fans wearing paper bags over their heads at A T&T stadium this fall .

I could see that. I really hope they are going to surprise me. Up until a few years ago(when they started having to pay their young guys big extensions), they did it right. They went into FA and signed players that could at least start if they HAD to and their team could go out and play football if necessary. Then use the draft to upgrade the talent. Last year's approach was a catastrophic disaster. They let 5-6 starters and a few more rotation guys walk and basically used just the draft to replace them. The team had no plan on the coach, when Mac walked on them they were left with their Head up their ass. I think their approach for the off-season last year was their plan all along, they just didn't know it would go so badly. So we will have definitive proof this spring. Last year was incompetence. If it happens again this year after seeing last year's results, then they know they are going to suck and don't give a shit. That's when they will start seeing half empty stadiums

Cowboy fans have to boycott this team and not spend money. If we don’t, it will be the same. No merchandise, no tours, no visiting the star and no training camp visits and not pre season game attendance. Sell tickets to opposing fans and then maybe they will get the picture that hiring as an OC a nepobaby who got Richt fired from Georgia and then made his way back to OC and was very mediocre including getting hired at Dallas as an OC who did not call plays. Wonder if they pull his pants down ar camp like they did with Campo. Death by Jerrah.

STOPED RIGHT HERE.

SORRY
....TV contracts make all teams profitable.
AND
This is Dallas, seats will be sold, may not be Dallas fans, but butts will be in seats
That's right. I'll never boycott the team. But I think people can put enough heat on the local media that they can continue to call his ass out nore and more
