I'm with CD. This makes some sense and honestly let's not forget he's the #2 only because the actual #2 is injured. I wonder if Osweiler even finishes the season with the Broncos if Lynch heels up. Ideally all of this is irrelevant because Siemian plays well enough and stays healthy enough that the most arduous task our #2 has to do all season is not drop his clipboard.

With the NFL switching to two IR players to return this year. Would it make sense to put Lynch on IR to return? If he is going to miss 5 weeks, it sorta makes sense to me.

Wonder if Hunter Sharp will give Osweiler his #17 back. Or if he wants a fresh start with a new #. He wore #6 his rookie year here which is now Kelly and then changed to #17 his college number when that became available the following season.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him come in if Siemian struggles to put points on the board and if Oz shows anything of how he played behind Manning during practices. Siemian I think was awarded the starting spot partly because there was a lack of a better option. The hope initially was that Lynch would become that better option. That didn't happen. Elway and company may be wondering if Oz is able to reclaim what was once his pending inheritance.

Here's a hypothetical for the board. Just like last year. I think this scenario is exactly why Elway wanted a vet.

Suppose Denver is 4-1 and heading into SD and KC in back to back weeks and Siemian again is injured.

Yeah, what I saw I wasn't overly impressed. I still look at Siemian and see Orton 2.0.

So what happens after week 2 if Siemian struggles to put up any points with defenses that are more varied than they were in preseason? I'd have to think the temptation would be there to give Oz a shot if he shows anything in practices. Also, this is the NFL. Oz being a backup until Lynch is healthy is not necessarily set in stone. A lot can happen in 5-6 weeks.

Really depends on how things go.

How os looks and how the others look. I wouldn't be surprised to see him on the roster one bit when Lynch is healthy. Matter of fact, I wouldn''t even be shocked to see Lynch go to IR once Os comes in and gets situated. It just REALLY depends on how things look the first few weeks.

Osweiler got #17 back. Hunter Sharp now wearing #15. I don't think the current plan is to cut Osweiler when Lynch is healthy in listening to Elway talk about the move. Things could change, but pretty obvious the plan is for him to be here all year.

if Siemian looks good early on and Osweiler looks like he can be the backup and go in if needed Lynch may see a stash and store option.

There was some debate about Lynch being the 2nd player to go on NFL- Return later list that Shane Ray is on. You can now have two players.
