This isn't even the last year of his contract. He's only going to get more expensive, so the team should wait as long as possible. It's not like the head coach will hold out from training camp. Only if another team offers him more money, would we have to payout more earlier.

I think the 49ers lock him up this year. I cant see him leaving. 49ers have a great team, new stadium and he loves cali area.

I'm a little bit worried. For how much money could he be asking? Even if he wants to be the highest paid coach in the NFL, I say do it! I'm sure he doesn't want Trent Baalke's job right?

If the rumors about Harbaugh wanting extra money and this and that are true, then I find it hypocritical to expect players to put the team first when the coach isn't setting that example himself.

If the Niners players are expected to show up, be professional and wait their turn for an extension or pay raise, Harbaugh should be held to the exact same expectations. Have Harbaugh coach though the 2014 season and work on a contract next year if Jed York decides he wants to keep Harbaugh as coach.

:agree: Just lock up the deal now so we can move on. Who else would fit into the current 9ers team? Bill Cowher maybe if he came out of retirement. Shanahan? I just don't see much for HC material on the market that fits with this current team.

one reason why this stadium is so huge, to generate more revenue to pay Coaches.

I agree pay the man. Not the highest because he hasn't won a super bowl yet but I would give him Top 5 money, maybe top 3.

I don't understand this, as there is no cap on coaches salaries, so Harbaugh wanting more doesn't really put him at odds with players. I get that he could make more than some players, but the max is nowhere near the player stars. Plus, he has to help the team to get the payday, not pad stats (metaphorically speaking).
