A quick look at yesterday's box score shows:

Fitzpatrick threw it 35 times
Daulton threw it 54 times
Tannehill threw it 45 times
Alex Smith threw it 37 times
Winston threw it 52 times
Derek Carr threw it 54 times
In his very first game with zero preseason Carson Wentz threw it 37 times

Are these guys all players who should be coddled too? Apparently their coaches don't believe so. And none are being confused with Tom Brady.

Is 46 passes and 15 runs out of balance? Of course it is. But you guys need to stop with this "poor little Kirk was treated unfairly" bit. He's a big boy with great weapons who was asked to throw mostly short underneath stuff for 2 weeks now.
Who the fuck is saying that??? Dude you need to really read what is written. In every post, I always say KC needs to play better. I continue to point out he had made poor decision and poor throws.

To some people, saying its smart to play a QB to his strengths, give him some help, and maybe hold the defense and coaching just as accountable as you want to hold the QB.... well thats coddling apparently.

Are you suggesting they made a mistake and should have given him a huge deal last summer?

Absolutely not......In fact I was all for using the transition tag. In the end I felt like they spent a couple million more than was necessary.

Way too early to tell. If he, and the team, bounce back with a couple good games, all this noise goes away.

To A degree I think Kirk is a mix between what we saw at the end of last year, and the last two weeks. I think he will always have those games where you say, he could be it. Be he will also have those games where you say, this guy is shit. And I dont think this team or fan base will put up with a guy we apparently have to coddle to get production out of. Which is mainly why I think, Cousins will be elsewhere next year.

Sadly, it's very possible the Skins suddenly have the worst QB in the NFC East. How the F did that happen so quickly. Wentz and Dak are going to have their ups and downs, but they both show something Captain Kirk doesn't a lot of times. Poise. They seem pretty cool under pressure in the pocket. Kirk has some people by has feet and he freaks out a little bit. I thought he got over that last year, but it's seemingly starting to come back.

I'm half joking BTW. But I am impressed with the 2 rookies poise under pressure, Dak especially. Wentz is a bit reckless with his body. He's gonna get hurt.

Blaze! What's homey?

Heh. I was coming here to post the same thing. Wentz looked good tonight as did Prescott yesterday. It was bad enough that every time I turned on NFLN or ESPN they seemed to be talking about Prescott today. Now their gonna be talking about Wentz all fuckin day tomorrow,

whats up my dude. Yeah we gonna hear about the East QBs all week especially since there's rumbling about Kirk and the locker room. Then it'll turn into Norman vs Odell talk the rest of the week.

It's you who needs to pay attention to what was written. Obviously I was addressing Stymie who wrote "I'm just asking if there is too much being asked of a guy who is limited that's all" and Shark. I wasn't even talking to you so calm down.. Shark said you can't ask a QB like Cousins to throw it 40 times a game as he compared it to asking Peyton to run the read option. My point is this is not 1972, teams throw a lot more today. This applies to young and marginal QBs as my numbers showed. And again the vast majority of Cousins' passes were short, high percentage throws just as they were last year. Of course they shoupd run more but this is Gruden's offense. If we need to protect our 5th year QB by limiting the number of passes due to his limitations then what are we doing here?

Not sold on Prescott, we made him look good. But if anyone looking at the Eagles and still can't see what a good QB can do to totally change a franchise then I have no idea what they are watching. This is why it's not always a stupid thing to give up a ton of picks if you can get a QB who can have such an impact. Think the Eagles would be better with Bradford and all those picks back? Think it's an accident that the Bears never win with Cutler? Not a chance,

We seen this movie before. Wentz looks great now, but in most cases where you gave up a ton of picks on a QB... it has failed. If you want us drafting a QB at #2, pull out the voodoo doll and wish for a losing season. I dont ever want to see this team dump half a draft into a QB again please. Cant believe after witnessing what a total mistake it was to trade up from BOB, you would advocate we do this again.

Well then that may be a reason why you should not advocate the Skins getting rid of SM this offseason (as you suggested is a possibility & granted he has made some blunders). SM would never make a trade like this (values picks too much), but a replacement may very well due this especially if Snyder is inclined to hire another puppet.

Regardless of what occurs this season SM needs at least another year. Be careful what you wish for.

Forum full of Chicken Littles ... the sky is falling, the sky is falling. I think the funniest take is 1 year and two games into the SM regime so many want to bench and fire half the team. Dan Snyder is embedded in more people than they realize.
:dingdingding:

I don't frequent the Skins board and can only go off the insane amount of bravado that stumbles onto the Cowboy board and the main board, but how do you go from acting like you are the unquestioned bully on the block with a QB that is going to run your franchise for the next 10 years to dismantling the entire team in 2 games? And while I personally don't think Cousins is very good, if I did, I wouldn't be so down on him after throwing for 700 yards in two games. He shouldn't be asked to do that in the first place. And wasn't one of his Ints on a last second throw against Pitt???:2cents:

You play the Giants and then the Browns. the Giants play Minnesota week 4. Beat the Giants this week and you could be tied for first in two weeks

good post. Unfortunately many of us suffer the effects of 20 years of dysfunction. We react the same way our owner did for so very long yet we all hated him for it. we keep doing the same things over and over again and expecting a different outcome. We only see the bad and not the good. As you point out, our QB threw for over 700 yds in 2 games yet many will say that it was all dump off passes (they weren't). There are many franchises that would take KCs performance and look at it as a thing to build on, we see it as he is doomed and a failure, get rid of him now. I include myself in this analysis at times. Man, we need help.

It's 2,games , he hasn't played like he could. , that should be all it is to it
Exactly. We all saw last year what he is capable of doing. The question should be how does the coaching staff get him into position to play like that again, and, once he gets there, how do they maintain it? its not coddling as some maintain, its coaching.
