I ask because all smack talk aside, if the Seahawks do beat the 49ers next week and move on to the Superbowl I want to know the best way to get a ticket to the game at the best price, if that is even possible.

It would be a really expensive 1 weekend vacation, but I would do anything to see the Seahawks play in the Superbowl.

I haven't but I'd have to imagine you're looking at a $5,000 bill for you alone at minimum. That's a disgrace IMO. The NFL is funded by fans who do nothing but provide more and more money to their product and at the pinnacle of their team's success, they get to watch rich NY businessmen ignore the game while they sit on the couch thousands of miles away.

It is a disgrace, but that is what it takes to be able to go unfortunately.

Flight would cost about $700, hotel about $200 per night, I just don't know how much the ticket for the game would cost.

Stubhub says from $2,500.

$2,500 + 500 + 200 (x2) = $3,400 + travel fees (Either walk or take the NFL's $50 shuttle to the game), food, souvenirs.

Ouch. Good luck!:suds:

It's a lot but the memories are more important than the $3,000

I went to one. If your team loses, it's one of the biggest wastes of money in your life. I suppose if you win it's worth it. The game itself was WORSE than usual (no replays shown) and the NFL experience type stuff is kind of lame.

I can see it being in NYC as a negative.

But if you make it, you should go cuz the AFC sucks. Should win

very well stated. I always say the exact same thing. There have been Duck games where I have some very nice offers for tix. Been to over 100 home Duck games, the memories I have bought out weigh money that would now be long gone.

Same goes for my annual road trip CFB game. It can get spendy, but the memories made for me and the boys is priceless. I went into my marriage with that understanding out front.

If Seattle wins I hope it becomes a reality for you.

I went to both the 96 & 08 SB(s) in the Phoenix area. Had I not got the tickets for face value, I would have never went. I spent less than $1,000 for 08 & it was way cheaper 96, I don't remember the specifics. Unless the Cardinals make it to a SB in Glendale, I'll never go to a SB again. It's not worth the money & the at home viewing experience is just as good, if not better.

Why one weekend? If you're gonna go, take some days off and make it a longer trip.

It's not like the game is in Jacksonville... there's a lot to see and do in NYC.

You are NOT going to find a hotel in NYC for a reasonable price this close to the game. Best value is to find some some Motel 8 up near Yonkers.

Are you incapable of not hijacking a thread? He said all smack talk aside IF seattle makes it he wants to hear what others experiences at going to the SB. Why do you insist on being a total and complete fuck stick on every single board you can find? Did you not get enough of your time outs before? There will be at least 100 threads with full on smack talk all week. You really don't have to do it on every legit thread also.

Grow up and be a man for once.

Yeah, they were saying on the TV here last week that this is going to be the most expensive SB in history because it's in NY and the corporate dollars are rolling high. By the time the teams are set you aren't likely to find a sub 3k ticket that isn't partially view obstructed or nose bleed seats.

It's not just the room that's going to be more expensive. Everything else is too.

No. Just no. As always, pumpkinhead is wrong.

If you're gonna go, go. It will be expensive. But if you enjoy it, it's worth it. Save money on your next vacation closer to home.

At least stay somewhere well located even if it's a cheaper hotel. There's a couple places on Varick near the Hudson Tunnel entrance (I think a Marriott Courtyard and the equivalent from Hilton?). That's good because you'll be walking distance to SoHo or the Village (best places for restaurants/nightlife) and close to the tunnel and PATH station for a cab/train to the game.

It is a negative for me. I'd rather have it in the middle of nowhere. Since I'll only be able to stay a weekend I won't be able to do the whole tourist thing, I'll be there mostly for the game then instantly head back Monday morning.

I suppose it would be a waste of a money if we lost but it would still be cool to be able to tell your kids/grandkids that you went to a Superbowl game.

Unfortunately I can't.

The money is not a problem for me, but $3,000 for a ticket, then $1500ish for hotel/air etc. becomes a bit excessive for a weekend trip to the Superbowl. If I can get a ticket sub $1,000 (I have no idea if that is a reality or not) then I'll probably do it.

Really sucks that the year the Seahawks have a serious shot at a Superbowl, it has to be in the most expensive area possible. Not to mention as far away from Seattle as you can get.

Miami would be farther away.
