In a battle of the replacements, who would you take? I know Boykin had only 1 catch on 6 targets, but I'd like to think that he could build chemistry with Rodgers after getting more and more snaps. My only thought with him is that even though Cobb and Jones are down, Rodgers still has Nelson and Finley to get the ball to. Douglas on the other hand seems that he may have to step into the first or second option for Ryan (and I picked him up last week off of FA).

My current receivers are:
Randall Cobb
Marques Colston
DeAndre Hopkins
Brian Hartline
Greg Jennings
Harry Douglas

I'm also sitting on Shane Vereen hoping he'll come back in time to possibly help me if I make the playoffs.

I'd be inclined to drop Hartline or Hopkins. But as you said Boykin will be the third option and will be very hit or miss. Doubt anything here will change your season.

I'd rather have Douglas. Jones is coming back for GB within a week or two, even when Roddy comes back, Douglas will still be on the field for the majority of snaps

This^^

Be shocked if Boykins becomes a reliable target for Rodgers, and if he does, it'll be right about when Jones returns..maybe he retains some of Cobb's role, but not sure he's suited for that role.

I love Jarrett Boykin. In fact I have listed on MyWifeHatesSundays.com as my deep deep sleeper for there figuring Nelson would have gone down but it was Cobb. I think Rodgers is far better than Ryan as far as passing goes. Even though he didn't connect except for a 40 yard plus completion he did have 6 targets in a very short period. And Rodgers spoke very highly of him in preseason. I believe Boykin would be my choice for sure. Sorry for the shameless plug too!

Boykin should see quite a few targets this week with Nelson being covered by Joe Haden. I don't thing Jones will be back yet and even if he is it would be in a limited role so I would lean more towards Boykin

I think you may be able to take both. Cobb has just been placed on IR and will not be eligible to return until week 15. Will anyone have the courage to start him at that point in a semi-final game without seeing him on the field? I would not. If you are rostering him at this point it is in the hopes that he might give you something in your championship game, should you get there.

I say drop Cobb for Boykin.

just out of curiosity, have you ever met a rookie that you didn't like?

I get what you're saying ol' Treff. I think the rookie success of AJ Green and Julio Jones has skewed things for me a bit. With Boykin it's a little different because there is no one else to put in and I like pacfan's point about Nelson being on lock down with Haden.

I don't like either. Boykins is fast and athletic and seems to get open, unfortunately like many NFL WRs he does not know how to catch. Douglas had a situation like this not too long ago where he had the chance to be the number 2 and he fell flat on his face. I don't think he can separate from better cover guys. He has looked better this year from what I have seen of him though so I would have to go with him.

All that being said, I like Lances idea too. Get them both and hope 1 pans out. Cobb is done this year IMO. Maybe he makes it back for the NFL playoffs
