The Red Wings open at home Oct. 7 against the Ottawa Senators. They will close the season at home on April 7 vs. the Chicago Blackhawks.
Love the end of season games against the Hawks. Come on down, weaklings.
Other highlights:
--Winnipeg (formerly the Atlanta Thrashers) visits Detroit on Dec. 10. They play only once, as Winnipeg will be in the Eastern Conference for this season only.
Yo Buff, Cheli's Chili has a four hour limit at the all you can eat buffet. Just sayin'.
--The St. Louis Blues visit Joe Louis Arena on Dec. 31 in the traditional New Year's Eve game.
I hope they're finally good this year. I think Armstrong has some tricks up his sleeve this off season.
--Detroit's only game against the Pittsburgh Penguins is on the road (Dec. 13).
Tell mush-mellon to keep his head away from opponents elbows. I'd like to see him go up against Datsyuk and Zetterberg this year.
--Other Eastern Conference clubs that will visit Detroit are Buffalo (Jan. 16), Carolina (March 24), Florida (April 1) and New Jersey (April 5).
Meh.
--Washington, Philadelphia and Buffalo are the three Eastern clubs the Red Wings play home and away.
Cool, always fun to go into Philly. Good memories!
open at home vs Pitts, then 4 game roadtrip (CBJ, Det, Phi, Edm)
6 game trip in Nov (all in west)
5 game east-coast trip in Dec.
another 5 gamer in Feb
- Sat night at home vs Tor, to Edm on Sun, then straight to Nash??
6 of our last 7 to end the season are at home
- fairly soft landing though: Edm, Col, Dal, Cal*2 among the last 7
merlynbc also pointed out that of the 11 back-to-backs, 10 of them involve trave between games.
that's pretty brutal.
