Caps-Pens matchup will be done by mid-January this year and only one of the games is on a weekend, so not much NBC coverage.

Not sure why they wouldn't open against the Caps instead of the Panthers, but congrats in advance on starting the year on home ice with a win.

Winnipeg's schedule is pretty interesting. Obviously staying in the East they were going to get whored this season. It looks like they typically have very long (7-10 game stretches) of home games and road trips.

For example, December has them at home for 12 and away for only 2. From February to early March, they play 9 of 10 at home (broken up only by a jaunt to Minnesota).

They have some tough road trips, but at least the NHL is making them sensible. The Lightning-Panthers road games are sets all three times. They play the Isles, Devils, and Rangers all in a 4-day span on the road.

The travel to play all these games against Eastern teams is gonna be tough. I'd expect some big swings in their season given the frenetic energy that will surely boost them at home and the very long road trips they have to travel.
