Would like to keep Sadzeck as were so thin at quality pitching prospects at the moment.

I wonder if we can recoup some solid prospects at the deadline, thinking about the future, beyond just the run at a pennant this year

I'd be all for adding someone like him. He's the kind of guy JD would set his sites on while ignoring guys like Chapman.

I would have already called BB and found out what it would take to get Ryan Dull or Doolittle possibly too

Ranger pitching especially SP have had a hard time remaining healthy. I wonder if Dufch needs a new environment. I don't think we can attribute his regression all to injury. To go as far as we did without the staff we had when Harrison was here, a Future bright and all slipped away. It makes last year quite amazing getting Cole and relief. Tough calls ahead but if we are to compete we need more pitching help and a healthy Yu and Kela my not be enough. Surely what we have now proves to be a faulty insurance policy

One thing we have in our favor is the rangers have excelled in division play this year (26-13) while the Astros and Mariners have average performance against the AL west. It bodes well because most of September is divisional games.

Darvish was roughed up, but he did strike out 5 in 2 innings.

Not sure I'd call it roughed up, 2 earned but it wasn't stellar

Darvish (1-1) threw 42 pitches, 27 for strikes, and allowed three runs, two earned, on a pair of hits. The three-time American League All-Star struck out the side in the first inning and fanned two more in the second. However, he walked three batters, threw a wild pitch, and exited the game after handing out a free pass to Raul Mondesi leading off the bottom of the third.

Though as long as he comes back healthy I don't care about the results in the rehab starts

And hit a 2 run HR to give the Indians a 5-3 win over Detroit.

The Texas Rangers are expected to be among the more active teams as the Aug. 1 deadline approaches, and they have a surplus of young talent to use as trade bait.

rumorcentral_16x9_203x114.pngInfielders Jurickson Profar and Joey Gallo and outfielder Lewis Brinson are names that have popped up, but teams also are very interested in high-A right-hander Ariel Jurado, reports Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com.

The 20-year-old Jurado has struck out 242 and walked just 40 in four professional seasons. The native of Panama is 7-2 with a 3.15 ERA this season for the High Desert Mavericks of the California League.

Rosenthal lists Double-A outfielder Ryan Cordell, first baseman Ronald Guzman and right-hander Connor Sadzeck as other prospects who could be in play.

ESPN’s Jim Bowden expects the Rangers, who have been dealing with injuries to their rotation, to pursue another starter as well as bullpen help.

We need pitching so for me personally I don't want to give up any more pitchers. But if we have to give up some talent at the other positions especially where we are backlogged for pitching then I am for it. I am not convinced that our pitchers will all be healthy for the remainder of the season.

Depending on the cost, I like him.
I think one reason for me I was not sure is his 15 HRs he has given up this year. But I really do not know enough about the guy overall to make an educated decision. So I trust you on this one.

Heard this morning we're scouting Tampa's Matt Moore pretty heavily.

Boy he really hasn't developed the way I thought he would when I first saw him. Thought he was gonna be an ace for sure.
