This organization is not that smart.
The rumor was out there weeks ago that Ben Johnson would have taken the job last year had they fired Eberflus. Only a rumor, but Bears are the only job that have generated any interest from him so far.

A few oline signings and BenJohnson and Bears probably have a top tier offense with all of their skill.

Oh, no denying that at all. It's just the McCaskey's have a history of making horrible decisions which has been the Bears detriment for 30 years.

right back atcha.

You want to develop a quarterback who has been working better with Brown, now you change how Brown watches the game and calls the plays. Sometimes things are so obvious that your haste to hate just blinds you.

Now Brown goes not get the HC job, so he leaves and here we go with Caleb and his third offensive coordinator in two years excuses start. I guess in a way its a head start on replacing every coach we have right now because Brown will not hang around for a new Head coach.
Dude it's week 12. They've lost 4 straight in inconceivable fashion. They've lost 8 games in the last 2 years where they had a 90% or better chance of winning. What is it that you think they should have done? Continue on with Eberflus and watch as he burns the whole fucking thing to the ground? Brown has earned the right to coach. You bring in anyone else in the interim, and it's another giant fuck you to the team and the fans.

Again, I ask what do YOU think they should've done. There is no way in Hell they could keep Eberflus for one second longer, and I wanna see what Brown can do. I like his demeanor, his work ethic and the way the players have responded. Why not kick the fucking tires on the guy and see if he could be the one? There's no chance of bringing an outside guy in, in week freaking 12.

So instead just bitching to fucking bitch, offer up a realistic solution or shut the fuck up.

And I am sorry, but the whole booth vs on the field shit is just fucking dumb. It's so fucking trivial, only YOU could give a single fuck about it. It's just dumb. Literally the fucking LEAST of our problems.

Where are you getting all of this out of what I wrote? Where did I ever write bring someone in from out side the organization? I am bitching just to bitch and you refuse to let it go. Who is the bigger moron?

The whole goal is developing the quarterback. 50% of the roster will be gone after the season. More if they decide to go back to a 3-4 again. You think Brown is going to be a better groom to the quarterback while he is watching the field for every defensive play and special teams personnel when they just took all his focus off the fucking quarterback?

Call a game watching the all 22 view or standing on the sidelines and that is fucking dumb and trivial.

Where do you get answers after the game? the all 22 footage. Calling a game from that vantage point makes absolutely no difference?

You want to be happy the wicked witch is dead, go to the movies.

I am trying to figure out what the fuck it is you want.

Best thing they ever did for Caleb's development was fire Waldron and fire Eberflus. Caleb will be fine. He's a legit star in the making bro, and that's with Flus sabotaging shit.

But you are bugged by all that, because Brown now has to coach from the sideline. Like there isn't other personnel to go up there and technology for them to communicate back and forth or whatever. Oh noes, nobody has ever coached from the fucking sideline before...how will he ever manage?

THAT sounds as gay as Wicked.

I've seen some fodder that Johnson was biding his time for the Cowboys job. McCarthy's contract expires this season.

There'll be at least 8 to 10 teams vying for him.

And if that’s true, you know we won’t outbid Jerrah.

I'm a little concerned about the Jets too. They have decent weapons on offense with Hall, Wilson, Adams and Conkley, along with their defense.

If they cut ties with full-of-himself Aaron Rodgers and draft a rookie QB, that's not a bad situation for new HC either, especially one with an offensive background.

If you buy into the media narratives, i can see them going after Vrabel. And if other dominos fall, i can see Doug Petersen getting the axe in Jacksonville.

If Peterson isnt offered another HC gig, and he teams up as the OC under Vrabel, that could be a decent coaching combo imo.

When that dude said after the game that he thought that played the end right, the axe had to drop for stupidity alone
"I like what we did at the end there"

Yeah, I felt the same way. I wasn't even mad when I heard him say that. I was just like "Wow... there's something missing with this guy".

It's not like he said "I like the idea, the approach, the execution just fell apart". NO... he just flat out "LIKED" the ending and what we did. lmao

well, let Mike Mulligan know on the score because he just said the same thing about changing the Brown and Williams connection.
At least I have some company in the matter, and actually one who is not an idiot.

The minute he blamed the Hail Mary on Stephenson (even though it was mostly his fault), when he had a time out in hand, it was pretty clear he sucks as a HC. To the press, you have to be protective of your players and take the blame for everything.

We all hate flus, but this was a failure of the front office not doing what needs to be done when it needed to be done. They should sell the team already.

Oh, he said he didn't like the move, huh? He disagreed with the promotion huh? I assume he offered up some alternative, right? And was that his first reaction, Friday at fucking noon?

I'm not nor have I ever said it didn't merit discussion, more so I'm against the abject rejection of it as a whole, as if there was some better alternative. News flash, there isn't.

And I CERTAIN Thomas Brown couldn't give any less fucks. It may or may not hamper his playcalling, but I'm pretty sure having the opportunity to coach the Chicago Bears kind of trumps that, and I have faith that he'll figure it out, as I said before, most the OC's in the league are on the sidelines, and this certainly isn't some sort of uncharted territory.

No, it was about 7:05 this morning. Just stop already, he is not on the radio at noon, they had backups on all Friday when the news hit. An idiot would have brought that up.

I am dealing with ifs, and you are dealing with me thinking I am scribing some prophecy. If Thomas Brown did not care about where he called plays from, he would not have gone up to the booth to begin with. Maybe they will set up a camera so he could watch from the sky on an ipad instead of watching the plays.

Maybe when you want to Merit a discussion, you dont start your retort with how fucking dumb the idea is, or maybe someone else will be worthy of meriting a discussion and I will just sit here and learn.

I think Caleb Williams will be just fine next season regardless of what happens these next 5 games. Next season is all about if we get an actually decent coach moreso than anything.

Whether or not Brown stays on as OC in the booth or not for the 5 remaining games this season somehow changing Williams' overall trajectory is laughable.

Some of the things he said were so f*cking stupid that I honestly wanted to believe he said them to put the heat on himself rather than the players after the collapses.

But now that we see the players hated his guts in the aftermatch, it's just that he is that f*cking stupid. Incomprehensible, but it is what it is.

*sigh*

Just get a proven coach that won't do anything stupid is all I want from the Bears at this point. We can't figure out the "coordinator out of nowhere takes the league by storm" deal. I know it's potentially a "settle for less" lower ceiling vs higher ceiling...but at this point I can't stand that we don't do just the basic sh*t right. Vrabel fits that bill. He has time management down, has had success with multiple playoff appearances with the Titans, and is a guy I thing players would respect. I just want that kind of situation and to see if Caleb and company can bring us that next step, as I feel we have the talent now to compete.

Ben Johnson or some "guru" like him and here we go again like Nagy/Eberflus/Trestman imo. Our ownership will crush the noob coaches with the way they handle things. We're just too f*cking dumb at the top. Only Lovie could overcome them to some degree because he was one of those rare mild-mannered guys that still could hold the room with respect. Well, that and some of our player talent during his years were Godly that any decent coach could have found success with them.

It's still fucking dumb, don't worry. I don't really care where you are spoon fed your thoughts from. You miss the point entirely.

The Bears fired their lameduck coach during the season for the first time in the history, after likely the most frustrating season in team history. It was well-deserved and refreshing. 12 seconds later, you're in here bitching about it. That's obnoxious. Sorry, not sorry.

So again, never said "the idea" was dumb. I said you were annoying. Big difference.

He had to go but I didn't know (until recently) that they let him talk to the media (in which he said he thinks he should and will keep his job) and then fired him.

That's pretty fucked up IMO.

I actually like the idea of Vrabel and we retain Thomas Brown/the current system that Caleb has progressed in.

Here's the issue with that, though (in a hypothetical world where it works out and we win).

Any OC that has success with Caleb (Brown included) would be thrust into the "HC candidate" conversation and be liable to leave us. That creates an issue. A situation like KC with Mahomes/Reid having a marriage that goes until one of them retires (likely Reid first) is ideal.

It's easy to sit here from where we are and say "well, that's a good problem to have!". Well, it is - until it isn't. When we have won a championship and the OC we've turned it over to isn't working out.

Dude is and always has been in fucking la-la land.

Yes, our fucking HC is going to stand there on the damn field watching the game on iPad "with an aerial view".

Holy God damned hell with this guy. I don't know how he has actually made it this far in life without having some horrible accident that killed him.
