also simply how many of them are going two weeks without playing

I wonder if we could see that affect entry into the playoffs by the end of the year. I doubt it, but maybe a 11-0 team with a weak schedule or 10-1 team gets left out

Well in a way you could be right

at the moment UCF only has 10 games, if they go 10-0 they have no playoff shot because they lose out on theoretical quality wins against Memphis and Georgia Tech

Of course a 10-0 UCF could possibly be left out of NY6 bowl for something like an 11-1 San Diego State if San Diego State's only loss is to Stanford in a close game

Saw that earlier. That sucks. Was looking forward to UCF/Memphis last week as well.

I wonder if the NCAA will make considerations for bowls. Lose 5 and UCF cannot get to 6 wins.

The NCAA already has the 5 win clause if bowls can't be filled. They use an Academic Performance Rating in order of priority.

Hence tejas never qualifying.

The kinds of games that would be affected by that are the ones that get rescheduled. It's only the easy games that get canceled.

Like back in the 80's there was a hurricane that hit Texas and Alabama had a game @ Texas A&M. Game was rescheduled until the end of the year, after Auburn(We lost). They called it the Hurricane bowl. Derrick Thomas went off and had 5 sacks in that game.

It does but the loss of two solid wins could easily allow a team from another conference to get the NY6 bid over them
