skinsdad, this preseason is different than the other ones b/c the starters usually play a half. If KC does well against the Ravens starters it should mean something. You have to treat this game tonight like a regular season game b/c the starters are playing. It's not just an ordinary pre season game. Of course there is going to be a shit storm from the media and fan base if KC plays well. That is just natural.

I still don't understand Dad's position regarding preseason games. Of course they are watered down, of course the results don't matter, but they are still very very important. That goes triple when you have a QB demonstrating poor line protections and other development issues that can only be resolved with game experience. Was it just like a practice when he called the wrong protection and got his clock cleaned by a blindside hit?

This was a very very important game for Robert, not only for his development but for the coaches to evaluate. And, this just in, coached put a HUGE premium on preseason game film. It's how they rate players, define starters and decide who stays and who goes home. The Cowboys gave some unknown FA the starting QB gig based primarily on his preseason play. Long shot late round picks make teams and start careers not based on what they did in shorts or in light hitting full pad practices, no they make the team based on how they did during the preseason games.

in short , no it isnt despite our qb . do you think it would have been magically fixed with half a games worth of snaps ? a career of bad habits all fixed in one game against vanilla coverage's. we can take to the bank everything that happens in game 3 of the preseason as gospel ? whether KC looks great or bad it wont mean anything until they line up in the games that count

i want both to do well . it hurts the team if they fail but it really wont mean anything because the conversation will end up at the same place

it doesnt mean nothing at all vs vanilla defenses dean . for the love of god why dont you get that ? last preseason KC looked great as he has this one and when the games really really counted who melted down ? KC did . so know they dont and this one doesnt either except to the slappy's

So Cousins, despite no running game, does kind of OK but of course throws one of the worst picks imaginable. How he didn't see that linebacker is the entire problem with this guy.

They'll go 3-13 and draft the kid from Penn State. I heard he was pretty good in high school.

I think we suck no matter who starts at QB. The first team got it's ass handed to it, again, by the other team's first team. Our much improved defense still can't defend the pass, our running game does not click until the defensive starters are replaced with future spot welders, our OL looks ok but that's about it and of course we can't cover or return kicks worth a shit.

In all honesty I'm about as discouraged as I've ever been. The low point for me, easily, was Zorn at HC and reports of Danny and Vinny flying off to scout QBs. But this may be worse.

With that said I'll watch, I'll always watch because there are only 16 of these damn things. But my heart just isn't in it.

Damn. You have already judged this team without even seeing one meaningful play. Granted the RG3 drama is a bit much, but I never expected anything from the guy (nor from Cousins) for this season anyhow. Again - I am looking for improvement from the rest of the team & don't even expect that till later in the season. People should not expect rookies and newly named starters to excel day one. It often takes time. There have also been several key starters who have either not played or played very little in preseason.

If RG3 is no longer with this team or plays very little it could actually be a major positive for this team since it will likely indicate that Snyder has truly relinquished control - at least for now. We will see.

No way in hell do I feel worse about this team then during the tail end of the Zorn or Spurrier (worst ever) eras. They have a ways to go in that area. I understand your frustration, but I would advise folks to at least let the first month play out before declaring this a total disaster (I would also advise folks to believe nothing that comes from ESPN & similar sources).

The low point for me was the hiring of Spurrior. And the trade was a very close second. This isnt even a blip on the radar at this point
