when he comes out to present the Stanley Cup and Conn Smythe trophies - I have an alternative solution, Wayne and I bet most of the posters on this board can guess what it is...

“What I’d like to see is the Conn Smythe Trophy be renamed the Jean Beliveau Trophy, and have [Beliveau] come onto the ice with the commissioner to present the award to the MVP and then stay by the commissioner’s side for the presentation of the Stanley Cup.”

Simple solution

Have the captain (Chara)of last years' winning team hand over the trophy.If a team is a repeat winner,use the gm.owner,etc.to pass on to captain.

say for example the Bruins made the finals again this year. they lose to the Kings. can you imagine after a 7 game hated series that Chara would want to give the Cup to Brown.... ooof. the booing if its on any ice.

i say the teams involved in the finals have an ambassador (former player) and that person awards the trophy (to their former team if they win) with Buttman standing in the background

I have absolutely no problem with booing Bettman. The league is on the verge of it's 3rd work stoppage with him at the helm. The man deserves to be embarrassed and put in an awkward situation.
