NFL reduces Greg Hardy suspension to 4 games. Drew Rosenhaus said he will confer with Hardy, NFLPA and his lawyers to discuss next move.

The NFL is a joke whats the point of handing out suspensions if every player can appeal it and get it reduced. How the hell did it go from 10 to 4 you might as well erase the whole suspension

I was about to bring that up too, if i was brady i should just get ready and lace up for pittsburg week 1 because if hardy can get 6 games erased for what he did with witnesses and evidence everywhere then brady will walk out clean

Since he already missed like 15 games last year, I kind of agree with you. They SHOULD have reduced it to zero this year...

This is such a fucking joke. He's still considering legal action to get it reduced further. Should be in jail

Don't forget his playoff share!!!

The point is he was not allowed to play for the whole year already. League was dumb for not acting sooner if their concern was $'s...Is there anyone that thought this one was going to be the full 10 games? Anyone? The league had no chance here. Going forward, sure, but not under the old CBA.

Dart board.

But seriously it makes them look bad that they can't keep these upheld.

Don't confuse the legal system with the NFL's suspension policy. If the legal system failed his victim it's not the NFL's job to rectify no matter how heinous the action, it's still apples and oranges. I tend to agree (without reading up on the facts of the case too deeply) that most of these guys should have served jail time and certainly Hardy if what we hear is true.

Good example. Let's say OJ was still in the league at the time. He was found innocent. That was a travesty of justice obviously, but if a court of law found him innocent what place does the NFL have to find him "guilty" enough to suspend? It's a very dangerous position to take. I don't know the answer which is why I think the league should stick to NFL transgressions and by all means cut a player if you don't like something else he did because the contracts legally allow for that.

Goodell continues to surprise me. I really didn't expect anything from his office until mandatory camps get underway.

I'd be happy if they would erase the suspension against Hardy.

The NFL tried to retroactively punish Hardy using the new penalty policy for "crimes" committed under the old policy. That is why his suspension was reduced. This will have zero effect on Brady's suspension.

Ehh, you would think so but I can already see the backlash if Brady's is upheld.

Though the NFL has proven it doesn't give a lick about fair and equal punishments or what people think of them.

What is fair & equal punishment for Brady? Which other players have committed the same offenses to set the precedent?

I guess what I'm trying to say is he doesn't care about what the fans perceive as fair and equal. Like today I've already seen numerous complaints about "a ball deflator is just as bad as a woman beater in Goodell's eyes."

Although the suspension was more likely that long because the NFL may have felt shown up, not so much the initial action.
