Really...4-6 could be any order and you could move up other guys but I don't see Haley being ahead of any of those guys. Plus Haley was used as an 3-4 OLB for some of this career.

Never saw Gino Marchetti play but some could say he is top 10.

I would also see putting Richard Dent, Doug Atkins, Andy Robustelli, and Willie Davis on that list as well. I would probably put Dwight Freeney above Haley also.

The requirements for what is considered a tackle have changed i remember having a Reggie White football card that had 240 tackles 180 solo listed for one of his earlier seasons`
That could be an error. Trading cards had a lot of errors in those days. Some, they corrected, some they let go. I remember Mark Rypien's rookie or 2nd year card had something like that in his stats. The season stats show him having 100some completions, but then his totals only had 14 or something like that.

Actually the teams kept track of tackles since it isn't an official stat and what was considered a tackle varied wildy from team to team in the past quite a few players have had seasons listed with over 200 tackles. 240 is the most i remember though think it was his 1991 or 92 proset card

Gutters and glitter, nice facepalms. At least my stats came from two sources, if you want to say they are too bias than that is fine or even prove that stats wrong, than be my guess. That would be nice, but what counter have you had. These are the only stats that are available on Deacon Jones that is out there, if you don't want to believe those stats, that is great. But screw me because I had the gall to show something, rather than just talking out my ass.

All those besides Dent were just before my time and dont know much about them but I agree going by the little I know about them.

One guy who was about as dominant as you'll ever see at DE is Julius Peppers in his prime. Dude was a man amongst boys. When he was playing for something (postseason & playoff-determining games), he was unblockable. Wasn't as consistent as the others, though.

I would never say the Best, but considering some of the names thrown Around, Simeon Rice. The Guy turned a Dominant D, into a Historic D...

I agree, I wish there was a better source or more of a source with actual stats besides teams keeping their own stats. Which some didn't even though. All I was originally saying was that any player could use a headslap, yet since was the most dominant of the players he gets criticized and quickly dismissed because he used a once legal maneuver
I didn't mention the head slap at all

since winning is what they play for: I'd say Haley, which is why he's in my top 10.
Jimmy said Haley was the piece that put Dallas over the top and Steve Young said losing Haley was why Dallas surpassed the niners. Haley brought the best outta the players around him.

Bruce Smith and Reggie White would be 1a and 1b on my list. I didn't get to see the players before them so I don't say all-time and I don't make any judgement on those earlier players.
