If I am Mayhew, I would be trading next years 4th & 7th plus this years 6th and 7th and get into the 4th round as high up as possible and get this guy. He was probably the best Defensive player on Clemson last year

I would be OK with grooming him to be Tullochs replacement some day. If those are our only 2 picks for this year I would have no problem with that.

Not taking Malcolm and then passing on Jarrett or Bennett just leads me to believe we will see some more 3-4 looks mixed in. That or Jason sliding in a lot more.

There is still a huge void at DT in my mind. As Reid and Walker are unproven as of yet.

You are correct he will not be proven either. Which was not my sentiment either on this rookie. Sure you and me both knew more DTs would be drafted and picked up later. IMO bringing in the right young talent that pushes Walker and Reid instead just inheriting a starting spot makes the situation better all around for me.
I wanted Jarrett or Bennett there. Nothing saying they will pan out better than Gabe at this moment, or for that matter push guys on the roster. So know you see where I was coming from.

Was just looking at his rookie stats he didn't get used much 150 pass snaps 1 sack and 4 QB hurries, 118 run snaps 3 run stuffs and 24 tackles. Looks like Atlanta got a steal.
