That is the thing you have to add and extra 4th, 5th, and 6th in next years draft as part of your grade. NO GM did that in this years draft.

Exactly why I said you include the trades. The draft wasn't just who we picked but who the extra picks we also acquired.

Have to disagree.

1. We have no idea where those picks will be. Supposed they end up being in the last three picks in each respective round. Those picks right now are worth about as much as stock options a year before the company goes public. Yes they could be worth alot, or they could be worth nada.

I look at the first three picks and all three were mocked in the first at various points by so-called experts. It was a very good draft.

But they are picks that we didn't have. We could use those pics for trades or players. Its better to have more than less.

A-

--We arguably picked up the Top WR and two DBs who are first round talent. All 3 of those guys should contribute early and could develop into special players.

--The DT and LB are hard nosed football players/run stoppers. They could be starters at some point.

--The QB and especially RB have the potential to be very good backups/role players.

--We gained 3extra picks next year.

Only reason I didn't give an A+ is because we didn't get a center...

IF you have 12 picks, but only 4 make an impact. Or six picks but all six start and make an impact... Which draft was more productive??

I understand that but the draft is a crapshoot. The more chances you have the your odds of hitting become greater. Plus you can trade more with extra picks whether its up or down.

IM not a huge fan of the throw as much poop at the wall and see what sticks approach. Sure occasionally you get lucky and find a Brady. But more often than not you end up with a butt ton of 3rd tier players half of which dont make the squad.

How can you say that when this team as consistently found success in the last three years in the 3rd and 4th rounds of the draft. Reed, Breeland, and Moses. Something is up your ass today Shark.

Agree about us getting a top WR in round one, and addressing a lot of needs on defense. Seems like SM chose to work on the secondary and some LB help this go around since that was where he saw the talent and what matched on his board. Would have been nice to get more DL, a C and also a true blocking TE but we are still building at this point and it will be one to two more drafts before we are close to a perennial playoff team.

For me that equals an A-

Because the reality is, for every Breeland, Reed or Moses ( and you know i think he is just average to begin with) There is a Rambo, and a few other 3rd -7th rounders who either dont make roster, or dont make an impact. I get it, our GM likes the shotgun approach. And thats fine for late round picks. BUt we basically came out of the first three rounds with

A backup corner, a role player lb/safety and a possible #1 WR of the future. Again ALL great picks when you ignore team issues.

Washington Redskins
Draft picks: Josh Doctson (No. 22 overall), Su'a Cravens (No. 53 overall), Kendall Fuller (No. 84 overall), Matthew Ioannidis (No. 152), Nate Sudfeld (No. 187), Steven Daniels (No. 232), Keith Marshall (No. 242)
Day 1 grade: A
Day 2 grade: A
Day 3 grade: B
Overall grade: A-
The skinny: Kirk Cousins needs as many weapons as he can get. DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon won't be around forever, so Doctson is a very good investment as a downfield threat. Washington met needs on defense on DAy 2, selecting an outstanding football players in Cravens (whether he's a safety or linebacker in their system) and taking advantage of Fuller's drop due to injury.

The tenacious Ioannidis will contribute on the defensive line, inside and outside, very soon. Bringing Sudfeld makes sense given the team's quarterback depth chart and Jay Gruden's ability to work with young passers. Daniels is a pounder who has a career in front of him. Marshall has first-round talent and the injury history of an undrafted free agent.

lol. Wasn't Rambo a 6th round pick? You are comparing him. This draft was for the future. What if we cant sign Breeland? Fuller is a great insurance policy. Cravens could be our future SS. Just b/c you don't see them as starters right now you cant write off this draft. Im more worried about the C position versus than the dline.

Dude, I havent written off this draft. BUt IM not willing to say we crushed it when we walked into the draft with one HUGE glaring need on this team, and we really didnt address that need.

I would say S and C were bigger glaring needs than DL. Cravens is our Kam Chancellor and should put to rest the garbage of overpaying Chancellor and giving up a pick for him.

Rambo was a Bruce Allen pick. While Scot's draft track record is short, it's been pretty darn good. Throw in the fact that he's rolled Yahtzee in other drafts and I'm willing to continue to trust the guy.

I agree C is the biggest problem area on this team right now.
