Im going to go ahead and assume that at least one of the two out of Nick Fairley and C.J Mosley will return. I just added both of them here for us to grade.

Use the grading scale I've provided below and from there, I will get the average score for each player after a day or two.

Rank 1-10 with 10 being the highest. Include percentages (.1.2.3.4.5) if you believe player is between certain levels.

1- Bad player. Should not be on a NFL roster.
2- Tackling dummy or jock carrier.
3- Nothing more than a practice squad player.
4- Low level backup player.
5- Quality backup or role player with no starting potential.*
6- Starter but easily upgradeable.
7- Mid level starter, with potential as a high level starter.
8- High level starter, with All-Pro potential.
9- Consistent All-Pro player.
10- Potential Hall of Fame player.

Fairley 8.1. That 8.1 combines his potential with his ambition. Third highest score I've given.

Mosely 6.7. Hard for me not to see him as somewhat upgradeable when I just graded two dudes that play his position significantly higher. He's a solid player though.

Fairly - 7.4 only because he is better than he has played.

Mosely - 7.3 lets face it, we did not lose much when Fairly went down

Fairley has played a couple of games at an 8.5 level, but the majority of the time has been a 5.5. That gets him a 6 for me.

Mosely 6.5.

Fairley is a tough one. His potential is a 9 or 10. He has played like a high 7 or low 8. Throw in the injuries he consistently has and I put him at a 7.5. Between his injuries and weight problems you need another high contributor on the team to spell him, not just a good rotation guy.

Mosley is also a 7.5 for me. He was a mid to high level starter, but I don't think he's going to get any better.

Mosley is underrated. I'd put him somewhere in the low 7's.

Fairly is overrated. He's got all the potential in the world but I rarely see it come to fruition. He is undisciplined and appears often times to be unmotivated. If he showed consistent effort and stayed on the field, I'd let Suh walk and pair Fairly with Mosley and feel good about the interior.

He has proven nothing to me and I'm okay with seeing him go. I'd be okay with him staying with a low contract that included production elevators.

I put him at a 6.5

Fairley 8 w potential to be a 10. Would love to see him and Suh stay and hit their primes together as Lions.

Mosley is like a 4.9. He plays w intensity but he's a pile jumper and prone to dumb mistakes. Easily replaceable.

Show me the drop off from Fairly to Mosley. Let me borrow those glasses before I take a puff too. This seems like fire.

Fairley has very rare talent. He's quick, much more aggressive than most DTs and has at times dominated his opponent. Mosley is a journeyman who plays a little angrier as a Lion, but he's not a game changer, not a special talent and he doesn't posses the natural ability Fairley does. Mosley will be a back up on his next team too.

Career sacks

Fairley 2011-2014 13.5 w 98 tackles

Mosley 2005-2014 (6 more years) 14 sacks w 188 tackles

Don't tell me Mosley is even on the same planet as Fairley.

Fairley- 7.7

He was playing very well this year before his knee injury. All the talent to be an 9, but needs to show continued dedication to his job.

Mosley- 7.3

Not a bad starter at all. Definitely falls under the category of mid-level starter to me. Not spectacular, but better than the average at his position, imo.
