Hard to argue which game I was screaming at more. Auburn or Penn State. Thinking back and missing out on the Rose Bowl game, I have to say, I am more satisfied with this victory. You can look back and say that easily when you win. But a win vs an SEC team like Auburn is just big in this era. And to do it in such fashion. There was never a moment where I said "Oh, here we go. Typical collapse." Pressure and dominance was shown the entire game. And to listen to the announcer continue to fumble over their words when they tried to talk something different than a typical (scripted?) SEC pounding over a Big Ten team.
Great season Gophs.
Best Gopher Football season in my lifetime and i'm elderly! For the first time in my life i'm not embarrassed to say i'm a Goofers football fan!! Let's hope we don't take a step back next year, let's keep this going!!
Thought about this.... what, in your mind, would be a step back? Not counting bowl games, 9-3? 8-4?
Not being competitive, going back to 7 - 6 : 6 - 7. Not beating the teams we should beat! Avoiding bad losses. Being top 20 and staying there would make me happy, more exposure likely means better recruiting and better recruiting hopefully means more national coverage. We don't have to go 12 - 1 next year but have a good season, play in a good bowl game and keep the roll going!
Shit, I don't know man. Continuing to hear Minnesota being talked about in college football conversations would be nice.
