Just as a quick note. Practices start this next week for the Broncos. Mostly just working out instead of anything actually being done on the field. Paxton decided to arrive early and get going in Denver. Not huge news but also a decent sign that he is taking this offseason much more seriously.

Vance Joesph said on Monday this i a 50/50 competition. Why? What has Paxton done to deserve starting even with Sieman . I guess Sieman's 6 wins last year with a 5th degree separation means nothing while Lynch's work ethic and just plain dumbness has merit. Even the coaches would rather play a injured Trevor who could not throw over 15 yards against SD than Lynch. Trevor will out smart and outperform Lynch especially now since TMoney will compete from day 1 of OTAs. Good luck Paxton you're going need all the favors from Elway you can get.

This is just me reading between the lines...I would say it has to do with keeping both QB's motivated. Siemian without being promised the starting job keeps pushing like he has to prove he continues to earn the job and for Lynch it gives him the opportunity to win the job so causes him to keep pushing. If you go in and say "Siemian is our starter" well does that cause both to not give as much effort as what a competition would bring?

And really for the coaching staff they haven't seen either of these guys. It is a blank slate for both QB's so they have to go out and earn it with this new coaching staff. Siemian if he continues to be the guy he has been then should welcome that kind of challenge and Lynch should be excited that he gets to hit the reset button on a bad first year. So far sounds like both are making great choices this offseason and if that is the case then it can only benefit the team overall.

It's always fun to try to see where the Broncos PR trend is going - Lately - there seems to be a drumbeat of pro Lynch type talking points - making reference to McCoy who devised offenses in successive seasons for Tim Tebow and Peyton Manning - and both succeeded to a high level of achievement. The Broncos certainly are taking pains to give Lynch a positive message. I think it is an enlightened way to treat the Lynch resource.

To me anyway, the message being sent to Lynch is ...we moved up to grab your ass with the intent and purpose of being the future in Denver and if you don't get what were throwing down and beat out Trevor as the starter and leader for this team going into wk 1, our confidence in you will be on the downside going forward. The time for him to earn that and excel, is this year, not next year. Same for Trevor. Both Qbs are on notice as to their future ( 2019 ) as Denver's answer at qb. Just my uneducated guess.:)

Yea good to see him working on his footwork. Ain't going to do him an ounce of good if he can't read a D and make the proper adjustments. It really bothers me hearing how lackadaisical he was in his rookie campaign and his preparation. His ass should've been in the film room and buried in the playbook. Hopefully he woke up, but he wasted valuable time

So if the competition is close Paxton may get the call however if Trevor wins the job again he would have clearly outplayed Paxton and if they improve on 2017 with Trevor what will the future hold for Paxton. 2 guys about the same age I would venture to say Paxton would have to move on without any real playing time. Now if Paxton wins and improves over 2016 then Trevor could be traded.

Most said that Lynch was a two year project anyway, but he did show he's coachable last year.

Realistically, it's a done bun. If it's relatively close, Paxton will get the start. Because lets face it, monkey boy was drafted by Kubiak in the late rounds because he thought he fit the system. Paxton was drafted in Rd 1 as a top prospect, and with the gurus we have on Offense we can tailor something to fit him.

If Trevor gets the start, I'll be nothing short of stunned.

Oh, and every position is up for grabs?

Von Miller says hi, Vance. You schmuck.

I'd say if Siemian wins the job again, that Lynch is toast. I have a feeling we have already seen Trevor's ceiling last season. It's not a very high bar, and if Lynch can't jump over that, his NFL future is in jeopardy.
