Ford has tendinitis in his knees. I've had it myself in my knees and other joints from heavy lifting. With tendinitis all I needed to do was give it some rest and stretch the joints and it became manageable. And Ford has a much better medical staff to work with him than I do.

But Ford cost a 2nd round pick, millions of dollars, plays professional football, depends on speed, and is at arguably the 2nd most important position. Ford needs way more than "manageable" tendinitis?! :-)

It is something that if treated properly will not be an issue. I've had no issues with it by treating it properly and he has a million times better staff to work with than I did

Ford is not a concern IMO...tendinitis is minor in comparison to Verrett's achilles, Alexander's ACL, Jimmy Ward in general, and Richberg's overall leg recovery.

And the absurdity continues with Jimmie Ward

Unfortunately these things can linger. Brieda fought it all season long last year. I hope that is not the case here. High ankle sprains require extensive rest sometimes. Hopefully this isn't something that lingers on
I think they have their bye week early this year so maybe that will help with rest and recovery.

Yes, the bye is after week four
On a related note, I think the 49ers have a good shot at being 4 and oh going into the bye.....................injuries permitting.

I like your optimism.
Win on Sunday in a game in which they should be favored and then its home to face a troubled Cleveland team and a decimated Steeler team. I can see it happening.

It's gonna linger probably for the rest of the season. The good side however is, Bosa is so technically sound and strong as a bull, that he doesn't need all the reps in the world. The dude wrecked TB's shit without basically any practice for a month. The only thing to really worry about is if he really reinjures the thing.

I wonder what's up with Hurd's back? Must be something serious; we haven't head from him in six weeks now.

My guess is that they are trying to rehab it the good old fashioned way as a means of trying to avoid surgery, but we will get word from him roughly around midseason that they are going to put him on IR and he's going to have surgery. Obviously I hope that isn't the case, but it is otherwise odd that there is no indication that he will be back anytime soon.

Not that I believe anything the 49ers say about the health of their players but here is at least something on Hurd after all the radio silence:

""Shanahan said he expects rookie wide receiver Jalen Hurd to be available after the bye week. Hurd has sat out five weeks with a back condition.

“He’s on track,” Shanahan said of Hurd. “We’ll see how it is once we get back from the bye week. I know he has a lot of work to do when we all get away from here a little bit for the four days. It’ll be big the work he puts in when we’re away. We expect him to be ready when we get back.”

Witherspoon down for a month according to 49ers which probably means anywhere from six weeks to season-ending IR with the way they fib about injuries.
Jalen Ramsey anyone?

Had high hopes for Jaylen Hurd but he's a bust. IR and out for the year.
