He makes it look so nonchalant.

LZ is my all time favorite band ever. The only thing people seem to say about Jimmy Page was that he sometimes played sloppy but I think that's some of what I like about Jimmy.

There was nothing "sloppy" about LZ from 74-76'...THAT guy playing his guitar with a violin bow is EPIC!

A little tidbit from Poison's mid-90s stunt guitarist:

I think I have a VHS of him playing with the bow at MSG in like 1974. Reminds me of when he was messing around with that crazy machine that would make different noises depending on how close he put his hand near it that he used to do. Cant remember what its called? Any idea what I am talking about? I haven't seen the video in many years.

Shoot, I love Hangar 18 as much as anyone, but I do have to admit it was mostly just an excuse for these guys to trade volcanic solos....

Rember the vid, but I have no idea as Page set the standards back then.

I come from an era long gone now, in my OP all the great rock-n-roll happened in the 70's...heres one that ought to bring back memories and is great for what it was...

I was born in the late 70s and wish I could have been around in the 70s for the music. I always thought of the 70s as the 1st decade where some timeless music was first made. It is the decade that had the most influence on most music that has come since then.

Now THAT was badass!!! Not only is that the greatest drum beat of all time but JPJ does a nice job reminding everyone how damn talented he is! Great find!

That ELP vid I just posted is a collection of of acoustic guitar, jazz piano fusion and drums all mixed into one terrific rock-n-roll song...they (bands) don't do that anymore. I saw so many great shows thru the 70s and 80's my mind was blown long ago.

Thank god for YouTube.:yahoo:
