The Bob Watson bar was supposedly a million times better than the Reggie, but that was later disputed

Lucky for you guys I have to leave. I could have done this all day, and believe me, they were only going to get worse.

Does Frank Howard fit the criteria? Former Senator also known as Hondo, The Washington Monument, The Capitol Punisher.

382 career home runs. I remember as a kid opening the sports section everyday to see if Killebrew had hit a home run the day before. Killebrew, Howard, and The Boog were always at or near the top in home runs.

Guess i could add Boog Powell to the list as well. 339 home runs, four time all star.

sure. Howard was a pretty spectacular hitter on the Senators. From 68-70, he batted .284/.386/.558 with a 173 OPS+ and 136 home runs. He was 2nd in the AL in OPS+ each of those years (Yaz beat him out in 1968 and 1970, Reggie Jackson led the AL in 1969). He finished his career with a 142 OPS+, 63rd all-time.

Like @broncosmitty, I too gave this post a rainbow. OPS+, really dude? Everyone knows OPS sucks ass. wRC+ and wOBA are the only ways to go. I assume not using wRC+ is why bronco rainbowed it too
I rainbowed something?

All those things you mentioned are gay as fuck btw. And make me not really want to talk baseball with you spreadsheet queefs.

I used to buy Zeke Bars. Don't remember isiah Bars though.

Weird.
Got me. I know there have been a lot of interesting novelties by various food companies trying to play off a sports moment. Not unlike the Wheaties star on the box.

Hondo is pretty well remembered. A moment I saw with him in old Crosley Field back when he was with the Dodgers. He hit a line drive over the 2B's head that took one hop and landed in the Moon Deck, which was 380-some feet. Frank Robinson was in RF, just looked up and watched it soar over his head. Hondo was a monster hitter.

Speaking of candy and ball cards,

A million years ago, Kahn wieners in Cincinnati had a bunch of baseball "cards" in the hot dog pack. Depending on where in Ohio they sold them, it was either a Reds guy or a Pirates guy. The problem was the cards were wax based and had to be to absorb all the grease. Pull out the card and it had pink ridges in it where the hot dogs were packaged.

And of course you got the cream of the crop from both teams ... Dutch Dotterer, Whammy Douglas or Johnny Powers ... maybe Stan Palys. Very collectable stuff.
