reports that he is going to be bought out. also reported that he wants to come back to nj?

obviously he wouldnt be getting a huge contract I WOULD HOPE. but probably the minimum allowed. what would be peoples thoughts on that move?

For the right price I think I would. He's not the same player he was but he fits our system. We'll also probably have to work the cap a little bit in order to sign certain guys, so depth is key if we need to trade people or let people go.

HOWEVER!!!! he still has speed with the puck(IIRC) and being a setup guy, Idk, i wouldn't be really opposed to it TBH. I always thought about Gomez coming back. He could seriously solidfy or upgrade the 2nd/4th lines.... I didn't mention 3rd because I demand Zubs, Poli & Bernier to be reunited and untouched! lol.

(can't speak for you guys, but i did luv him when he was a devil.. hated him for signing to NYR of course, but no beef afterwards)

Too lazy to look it up, but how is Gomez on faceoffs? This has been a problem for years with this team (probably because we haven't had many real centers) and I think it will hurt us in the playoffs.

Throw him a 1yr $1M dollar contract and see what he can do. The obvious downside is that he would take spot from either JJ, or Henrique. Not sure if that's what we want to do at this point.

JJ, rather not, infact, i would've paired him with JJ the very least.

He's not even a 4th liner at this point in his career..realistically he probably could get some chemistry with Elias going again but if its gonna take a spot away from a more deserving player I dont want him here.

Is Zajac coming back tomorrow? Thought I read that somewhere a few days ago.

he does have wheels still. i agree a 1mill contract isnt bad. as long as he can still move the puck. i think a lot of people are comparing him to the contract he got which isnt his fault because who in their right mind would not accept that money? just so happens it broke him lol couldnt live up to it.

next year it would be in no particular order. henrquie zajac jj and gomez. thats a solid core down the middle.

worse case i would let him come to camp on a try out much like sykora and see if his work ethic is still there.

Also, their positions aren't set in stone. People can be moved to the wing if need be, which will probably be the case when Zajac comes back this year anyway.
