Hey the 2011 Mavs were one of the worst... and they beat the 2011 Heat who were one of the best.

Also... the metric uses full regular season roster.... we all know the post-January Cavs are a completely different animal from pre-January Cavs.

True, I like this team defensively. The only issues is keeping the hot streak on offense and depth, especially since the Warriors have one of the best benches in the NBA.

And what about people who already purchased tickets with a June 4th start date and maybe have to work or have other commitments that prevent them from being able to attend at an earlier date?
There were no tickets or set date. Game 1 was either GS or in Cleveland(maybe in Houston). They could of moved up the date before that. This is what people don't understand. When GS won it(that is when they knew game 1 would be in GS). All they had to do was say hey the start date is blah blah blah. it wouldn't affect anyone. Ex: yankees make the playoffs they sell tickets for the whole series if they don't make it to lets say game 7 those people get their money back. In this case they move the date and people who can't make it get their money back others will buy.

NBA moves dates all the time through out the post season. thats why a lot of people didn't understand why they couldn't do it again.

Overall i guess its not a big deal but I know I lost some interest already. I really almost forgot about the Finals. ESPN(watch it every night) hasn't talked about it much. I have seen more baseball and NHL then the NBA. It just really kills the momentum.

You had to wait a week. The Warriors closed out last Wednesday. The Stanley Cup Finals are in the same situation as well (although their conference finals went 7). You're complaining about nothing. It's in 2 days, can you not wait 2 more days? Fuck, it's like dealing with a kid on Christmas.
I can wait Im just saying that I almost forgot. NBA is dead right now. This killed the momentum. Thats all.

Link? Did a quick search and found no examples of the NBA changing playoff game start dates.
why would there be a link. its not news when they do. why is the longest lay over in this era then when both series ended at the same time almost. real question:

 You said it happens all of the time in the playoffs. I can't remember a game where the date was changed after it was set and announced. The NBA doesn't just "change dates." If they did, it would be news and you'd be able to link it.

There would at least be a press release announcing the change.

yes when 2 teams finish early in a series they change game 1. hence this being the longest lay over in the NBA

Link? If it's happened, there would be a press release. So back up what you say. Or just go ahead and dislike this post too. Since that's your response when you say shit you can't back up.

It has never happened.

Would be a logistical nightmare for the hospitality industry.

What if their is a convention in town at the same time?

No Hotel rooms.

Plus, Stadiums are booked for Concerts etc..

Playoffs are big business.

Yeah, the lay over sucks.

But, it has had the opposite affect on me.

All the shit talking by homers and haters have me chomping at the bit.

I just hope this series is not a letdown like both of the Conference Finals were.

They don't.
They can't.
Events like the Finals require tons of non game coordination.
It has never happened.

Exactly.
Hotels are the biggest reason.
The number of rooms needed to accommodate everyone involved is mind boggling.

Miami, for example, probably has as many or close to as many hotels as any NBA market, but can't host the all star game because a huge boat show is scheduled here that same week every year which has blocks and blocks of hotels rooms locked up.
