This is the most excited I’ve been before a season started since ‘07.
If Will and other key offensive players stay healthy, we should have a top 5 offense this year. Dana expects the offense to average 45 pts/gm, and I think this is a reasonable goal.
WVU’s defense is going to be good this fall, and has the potential to be really good. The key to success of our defense has always been the Nose and FS. When we’ve been solid at those two positions, the rest has fallen into place. Bigelow has a history of injury, but the kid was a 5 star coming out of HS. Reportedly, he is completely healthy. He will be a man playing against boys. Kenny Robinson is as good of a FS today as we’ve had at this position in the past. Rose came on strong the 2nd half of last season. Jabril Robinson and Stills manning one side of the DL will be a major upgrade from Reece and Co last year.
With a solid DL, our LB’s will flourish like we’ve seen in the past when we’ve had a good DL in front of them. Anyone remember the LB Corps of ‘05? That’s what I’m talking about. Long and Tonkery will excel without OT/OG banging on them in running plays.
Our safeties will match the ‘05 group in proficiency.
Get ready boys...
It’s happening in just over 2 weeks. Tennessee will get the shit stomped out of them. Going to be a beautiful thing...
