On the bright side it is nice to see this tournament becoming more competitive. As a Canadian I see no shame in watching other countries develop more and more talented players in what has often been considered "our" game, especially at this particular tournament which Canada use to dominate. Nice to see the Russian crowd really get into it. Could have done without the whistiling though.

Also I'm not sure if I can think of a situation where having the home crowd behind you could ever be more of a factor than in a bronze medal game between 2 teams that were very much hoping for gold.

- Yakupov is a hell of a player when he has open ice. Not sure how much he'll have in the bigs.
- undecided about Huberdeau's game. He's got so much talent with the puck, seems so disinterested without it. Has an element of jerk-puck to his game as well.
- Ryan Murphy ... so fucking awful defensively. twice in the 3rd he just gave the puck away under zero pressure.
- I've said it before, I'll say it again. Schiefele = Spezza.
- gee look who was beaten wide on the game winning goal. hello, Ryan Murphy. awful.

I wouldn't have minded seeing a brawl at the end there with that taunting at the bench. maybe in the parking lot.
will look up who russia's #17 is later. I still don't know the results of the gold medal game, so want to avoid the IIHF site
