I would go with Bob, I think hes proven he can play in the preseason. I didnt get to watch the 9 goal game but Im pretty sure they said Backlund was suppose to play that whole game until he was so bad and had to be pulled. But I would like to give him a try. And if hes not capable of doing it, Boosh is there until Leights is healthy

I go with Bouch only because he's the vet and you don't want to throw the rookie into the pens homeopener in their new building. I'd play him on sat against the blues...a lot safer.

I'm sick of all the touchy-feely games coaches are forced to play in today's sports.

Yes, on one hand it would be smart to keep bobs confidence intact and not allow him to get shellacked by the Penqueers, but on the other, he's experienced and older which should make him less likely to going into a funk over one game and he's paid well.

If I were Lavy I'd throw him in there. Since I'm not, Boosh will most likely start.

i agree i like bob but the pens at home boosh first then get bob some starts lets see what he can do against full NHL line ups...GO FLYERS!!!

It it weren't the pens grand opening etc...Tox I wouldn't care but Bouch could probably handle it better. The blues are boring and easier for Bob to get his first start...haha!

If we dont put Bob in because it's the Pens at Pitt just when do we put him in. It's the first game of teh season who will care about this game after 20 games. He has played well enough to warrant the start put him in maybe he's shuts down crybaby and his boys and maybe he doesnt but our other goales never totally shut them down either we will win in a high scoring game or a low scoring games either way we win.

I would go with Boucher. Playing a rookie on opening night in his 1st game against Pittsburgh when they're opening their new building wouldn't be fair to the rook.

yeah i agree with what seems to be the general consensus here. boucher is the veteran, and the type of game we are dealing with on thursday is the type of game you do not want a rookie goalie debuting in. too much pressure. you know the pens are gonna be hyped up as well as their fans. st. louis will be a good, middle of the pack team for bobrovsky to make his debut against. i expect lavy to give boucher most of the starts, but i think bobrovsky deserves and should get around a third of the starts so we see what hes got. if he proves to be better than boosh, he's gotta be our 2nd goalie when leights gets back, and then let the 2 of them battle it out for a month or 2
