I would bet heavily against the NFL removing any of their national broadcasts (SNF, MNF, TNF) featuring a huge rivalry game to show another with a returning player against an inferior team. But oh well.

I think it would depend heavily on the match-up. Packers/Bears probably wouldn't be rotated out, especially with their current records. But, the NFL works on a seventeen week schedule, versus an 82 game schedule that lasts six months, for hockey. It makes the decision making process a little different.
