3rd time in the last 103 reg-season games that Sid-Geno-Staal will all be playing together. 1st time HEALTHY since Game 1 of 2010 MTL series, seeing as Sid got injured in the 2nd period of the 1st game Staal had back (Winter Classic). This is the first time they've played together at Consol. Insane.

:spit: That was pretty funny:pound:

you win pix:smash: that stat sux

It's really just insane. This is truly the first time we'll see this team at it's full potential...ever. It had the insane potential last year, then we added Staal, lost Sid, and continued to lose people. Now they're all healthy. It's just crazy. This is like winning the trade deadline without having to give anything up. So much new potential. No idea just how much this team could be capable of.

When Shero brought that up in his interview on NHL Live it hadn't really sunk in that it has been that long, until he said that. He also pointed out that with the way the team is built financially, it should have been devastating, yet they still managed to be very successful, which is impressive.

Here's to hoping all three + Marc-Andre can stay healthy for a while.

In the pregame special:

"If you've been living under a rock, or in Philadelphia...basically the same thing..." Stan Savarn, boom.

Okay you guys who were around for the Mario return: how does this compare? There's a bit of a difference I suppose because we thought Mario was DONE, and it was 3 years. But just as a feeling, how does it rank? I remember Mario's return, but heck, I was 9.

I was in my early Twenties and the feel to me was Mario's return was A LOT bigger. I think the circumstances made it feel bigger and back then the Penguin players seemed more like Rock Stars in town than today. But that could be me just older and having a family now so the hype doesn't get to me as much?

My favorite memory from the time of Lemieux's return was when my dad called and broke the story to me. Back then, there wasn't any text message phone update (how I found about about Crosby:L)!! It was surreal when Lemieux returned. There had always been that chatter about it, but it was mostly just wishful thinking.

Like Savran said just a bit ago, because of the age we live in just 10 years later, it makes it a bigger deal because more people around the world know about it, and can discuss it. It's pretty cool.

I do agree with the new media thing affecting it...I guess the whole being cancer thing has an effect as well.

The cancer battle was a big deal in it's day, too. The day he took his last dose of chemo, and then laced them up that night to play in Philly, I'll never forget that nite. That takes some freakin backbone. One tough SOB!

Well, in this day and age we probably won't have those great of players playing injured like Mario did...between them being huge investments and ATs/MDs just knowing more about certain issues, they just won't play through big things like he did. Not a poo-poo on the toughness of current NHLers, but merely showing the difference in the times. That said, Mario was a freaking beast.

Well peeps, I'm off until intermission...maybe. I may be too hyped on adrenaline to actually get on. I should be on afterwards though. GO PENS! Welcome back Sid!

That Kunitz backhand was inches away from giving Sid an assist in his first shift back.

One thing the Isles have going for them is the fact that the rest of the Pens could lay down a bit now that Sid's back. It's only natural to assume he'll just pick up right where he left off. Avoiding that may be the biggest hurdle of Sid's return.

not tonight. adrenaline is charging through that whole line-up. maybe later in the week there could be a let-down.

which brings up a question... is Sid going to get all 30 points tonight?
or maybe 10 per game through the week.
