Lets be clear on 1 thing. The Penguins got Fleury, Crosby, Malkin & Staal because they picked 1st overall twice & 2nd overall twice.

The Islanders have picked 1st overall only once & in the top 3 only once since 2007 the last time they made the playoffs.

Besides the Islanders have bigger problems than drafting. They have an owner without a clue.

Yeah, different teams are cellar dwellers at different stages. As we can see from the Oilers, Blackhawks, Penguins, Capitals, Lightning, and Nordiques, there is a method to the madness.


And I think that Sidney Crosby fellow might be a pretty good hockey player.

You have to thank the Panthers for the Fleury pick. Then the '06 draft was pretty deep and out of the top 5 scary to think Staal might have the worst production and Staal is there last draft pick to produce in the NHL on a daily basis.

The draft is a total crap shoot but I agree the Isles issues are all on top. Also they do need a coaching change they played with no heart and basically it seemed like the whole team bought tickets and sat in the seats.

Finally something serious has to be wrong health wise with Okposo he doesn't even look like he should be in the AHL right now.
